The course is great! Fun track with great views. Went in February and the course was in good shape. We had 5 of us, playing a 3v2 scramble. Started off waiting for the group in front of us every hole. So we started playing together. Marshall was very rude when asking us to split up even with no one behind us and us waiting on the group in front. Told him we’d split up or let others play through if we got caught but no one ever did. Bad customer service.

On Jekyll Island for a few day, we decided we wanted to try the local courses.
Pine Lakes was closed for maintenance so Pro suggested Indian Mound.

After reading some poor reviews our expectations were low but it was not so bad. Starter was very friendly and the course was in a reasonable condition for the time of year. There can be some heavy rain at this time of year but the course held up well.
Greens ran fairly true. A couple of greens had some very small bare patches but not excessive.

It’s a resort style course meaning wide fairways so can accommodate the higher handicapper golfer.

With a internet deal price of $55/person - taxes and cart included. Well worth it.

Played Indian Mound and Pines Lakes on back to back days in July. Courses are in good shape. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Love the laid back atmosphere.

Golfers should not have to compete with lawn crews to play golf. The dust and noise made this a horrible experience. When i asked to speak to the club msnager i was told to call maintensnce instead. So the golf club has no idea there is even a problen. I have dirt in my eyes and it has created a medical condition I must now address. Shown is three lawn workers on the seventh hole. We had lawn workers on every single hole riding and blowing dust all over the place. Can you imagine having a restaurant having the cleaning crew run vacums constantly while you eat or the bowling alley doing constant maintenace in the lane next to you while you are bowling? Of course not. Nobody runs a recreational business this way but Jekyll. Don't waste your time if you plan to play golf at this facility. Any sensible management who has 4 courses avaible would close the course and place the golfers on other courses or start the cutting after or before hours. But this State Park is not actually run by the State. It is run by people who are more concerned with making a buck than serving the taxpayers who own the park. Letting a private company run this State owned facility was one of the biggest mistakes ever made in Geirgua. Write your congressman to return Jekyll back to Geirgua.

Real expensive, historic old rich guy hotel. Room was very nice, with a great all weather balcony and view.

If you wish to have lawnmowers riding around the edge of the green while trying to putt or cutting the grass within fifty feet of you in the fairway this is your course! There were four lawnmowers going at the same time on the 5th hole. I had to walk over and ask the worker to keep his distance and remind him this was a golf course and we were paying to play here. The whole crew pretty much ignored we were there. They were definitely untrained in cutting in front of the players by starting at Number one in front of the first group on the greens. The workers were mowing right at the busiest time of day about 10am with no regard to disturbing or endangering players. Please feel free to sue if you are hit by a flying rock or stick.
There are four courses and three are in poor shape with bald spots on the green as well as in the fairway. These are considered the most neglected courses on the golden isles by locals.

Well, this is a tale of two different experiences. If you walk in the pro shop, you think you are in a five star resort, with lots of apparel and equipment. Then, there is the course. The two-some I met for a tee time on the Indian Mounds course were, like me, surprised when the starter announced that the course was closed for maintenance. So we were moved to the Oleander course; cart path only due to the recent heavy rain. The layout is really good; the course is a mess. No attention to weed control anywhere; not even on the greens. Tee areas are often barren, as are parts of the fairway. It wasn’t terribly expensive ($74 with cart, if I recall), but there was no beverage cart as promised and no sight of a ranger to move the slow pokes along. These are the only golf courses on the island, and the hotels charge resort prices. These are not resort courses or even good public ones.

We golfed here this past week on two separate days. Nice pro shop and big bathrooms in the clubhouse. Carts are nice with built in coolers and an iPad type of thing with course map, distances and electronic score card. Paved cart paths. Bathrooms out on the course are clean. Lots of gators along the fairways to keep things interesting.

The good - Pine Lakes. Fairly well maintained with nice signage for each hole. We really enjoyed ourselves!

The bad - Indian Mounds. Poorly maintained. So many holes in the grass everywhere - tee box, fairway, even a few on the greens. Most holes were ‘cart path only’ because there was a lot of mud. It had rained the night before, but most of the mud had been around a while. No signage on the individual holes. We had a five-some randomly jump on at hole 10 and decide to do a scramble. They held us and everyone behind us up with their messing around. They refused to let anyone play through. The conditions of the course and the ‘customers’ (doubt they even paid) made it feel like an absolute dive of a course. NOT what we were looking for on our vacation. If we’d played this course first, we would have canceled our Pine Lakes tee time.

This place is a dump! Played on Jekyll Island last Friday… What a complete dump the course was in… No grass in the fairway and literally had to find a place to hit the ball..
We quit on the 13th hole… Refused to finish… Greens were beyond terrible.. When we finished I returned the cart and asked “are you guys closing that course down?” The answer was yes…

The course use to be in good shape, the Hotels on the Island were sub standard… Now the Hotels are great and they let the course go… Comment Change the Jekyl Island authority! It is obvious they have no clue how to run these facilities…
