Definitely stop here when you are down the cape if you are a knitter or want to be! They have THE best yarns and ideas for projects too! I wish I lived closer and could take some of the classes and workshops offered too! I was on a solo trip before my boys were out of school for the summer and i was also able to take a conference call too! Thanks so much for a beautiful creative space!

I signed up to attend a macrame workshop at Salt Yarn Studio during my vacation on the Cape this summer and it far exceeded my expectations! I found the shop to be so inviting and well curated - instagram-worthy, in fact. Of course I had to go around touching every skein of yarn and loved how there were little finished projects placed here and there to spark inspiration. The workshop itself was informative and empowering and I immediately felt a sense of community amongst the women. On top of all that, what a surprise to be treated to a beautiful spread of locally sourced drinks and appetizers! Can't wait to return next summer to this special place!

Every time I visit Salt Yarn Studio I overhear someone say, "This is my heaven!" - myself included. The modern vintage interiors are beautiful and inviting, the yarns are high quality and unique including lots of other interesting local goods. I have attended several classes and workshops at the studio - the teachers are exceptional and the staff is so passionate, helpful and friendly. When people are in the store they have conversations with each other like old friends and I attribute that to the community feel the studio encourages. I am always coming up with creative project ideas there and inspiration flows. It is quite remarkable what this studio has achieved in a short amount of time and I cannot wait to see more!

I was thrilled to find a macramé class on the Cape, held at Salt Yarn, and I fell in love with the retail space—it’s situated in an historic house yet it’s open and airy of full of beautifully dyed yarns & modern project ideas. I love idea of drop-in classes held in their large community room (which has central air, a hot commodity in old homes!). A lovely addition to this sweet area of Dennis.

Endless expanse of yarns (types, textures, and colors), wide variety of knitting supplies, really fabulous customer service, tons of sample projects (I am now several projects behind - LOL), AND the classes are the best knitting classes I have ever taken.

I have never met a more well-versed, experienced, humble, student centered instructor (& I am an award-winning school teacher). If you are stuck with a project, come to a drop in class. The “students” are a smart, fun, good humored bunch from all over the Cape. I actually set up my work schedule around the class schedule.

Having moved from knitting to quilting a good decade ago, I didn’t expect to become so inspired and well trained when I first visited Salt Yarn ...

Below are some projects I have completed since late spring. Although I’d been knitting in the past, I did not know how to read a pattern, because my grandmother taught me, & she didn’t know how to read patterns in English. Many of the students are not beginners or advanced beginners like me; some are extremely experienced and make gorgeous dresses, coats, sweaters ... you name it.

Owners really knows the yarns; love to heather talk about the yarns, their history, and origins.

A fun, welcoming, educational place ... stop by and add to the community weaving. Don’t miss it; very family friendly.

This space invites creative activities. It has obviously been thoughtfully updated, designed, and organized to welcome newcomers as well as regulars who come to work on their projects. The project samples are original works of art and most inspirational. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made you feel like it was a safe place to learn and experiment. The materials were of the highest quality and the colors available offered many choices. I regretted not being able to avail myself of one of the great workshops with visiting artists as I was only visiting in the area for a few days. Definitely check this place out! You won’t be disappointed!

I had frequented the previous establishment. While I didn't always walk out with a new project, I always found it interesting to wander from room to room, checking out the yarns and patterns and developing new ideas for future ones. There was always something new to see and/or feel.

While I was disappointed to hear that they had sold the business, I was initially encouraged that it would continue as a yarn shop. Since the transition, I have been in a couple of times and have been sorely disappointed.

The way the rooms/displays are set up, it feels as though there is a lot of wasted space. There were very few completed 'sample' items on display (which is what usually gets me going) and the variety/quantity of yarn is not extensive. I was not at all inspired to take on something new.

Maybe some of that is just some of the 'starting a new business' growing pains but, thus far, I have not been impressed.

Thanks for your feedback. We are here to serve our creative community by creating a warm and inspiring studio, so please reach out to us with additional feedback! We’ve been inviting everyone to share their ideas and are excited to hear your recommendations! We are 3 months old and so of course we are still catching up with shop samples and organizing new inventory arriving daily! (We now carry Brooklyn Tweed, Woolfolk, Madtosh, Rowan, Berroco, Adriatic, Cascade, Wool and the Gang, Koigu, Malabrigo, Plymoigh etc, as well as locally dyed and spun yarn). We’ve added floor to ceiling displays and a back room so that we can showcase and store more yarn than the previous shop design, and by optimizing storage we’ve made space for a dedicated classroom to support our new curriculum! Please stay tuned for new samples, knitted weekly and visit one of our trunk shows from some of the yarn lines we are excited to carry so far... Warm regards, Julia
