Nice little place off the beaten path which has hiking trails and a couple of lakes. Conservation minded and educational as well as a pleasant walk through the woods.

We signed up for the "fossil walk" led by Dr.K, an extremely knowledgeable and amicable guide and environmentalist. What was anticipated as being able to view a wealth of fossils in various levels and surroundings produced but a single place where only a modicum of fossils were viewed. Otherwise it was a hike in the woods, too often with no group control - members of the group out of sight of those ahead.

Visited the center got info from very helpful staff they informed is of a shower approaching so we waited a bit. Hikes the orange trail it was breathtaking literally and figuratively but we'll worth it. Bring water and good hiking shoes and possibly a snack for this one.

The staff was friendly, clean restrooms at the visitors center. We only had time to hike the fossil trail. It was awesome. We plan to come back and hike the other trails.

Got some good info from the friendly folks that work there. Most of them are hikers so they can give you first hand information which is very helpful. We did the Tumbling waters hike which was somewhat difficult in places especially the area that goes down to (and back up from) the waterfall. The falls were beautiful and very peaceful. Definitely worth the effort imo. There's also some nice long distance vistas and a couple ponds along the trail. There are different trails for different interests and hiking abilities. Tumbling Waters took us around 2 hours including time at the falls. We're experienced hikers.

We stopped for information on our quest to see the waterfalls in the Delaware Water Gap area. The park ranger was so helpful. He showed us on the map where the waterfalls were and which ones were open this time of the year. (March 24 , 2017) . The center itself has many displays that school age children would enjoy. We are planning to attend a woodcock talk and hike this evening, free of charge. They have many activities during the summer for children and family.

What a great trip. Beautiful scenery, just magnificent. A lot of work went into maintenance of this park. Family loves it and we will go again for sure.

We stopped at the Education Center to hike Tumbling Water Trails. There are a number of other trails that are easy to moderate. Tumbling Waters Trail is a well marked trail that is moderate to difficult. The trail is 3 miles long and well marked in orange. We thought it would take two hours but it took us a bit longer. The staff at the center asked us to sign a log when we started and ended the hike. They provide trail guides that describe the diverse habitat through the hike. I was glad I wore my hiking boots because the path was steep and rocky in many spots. The views were beautiful over looking th Kittatinny Mountains across the Delaware River. It was a quiet hike which we enjoyed, we did not run into any other people. PEEC is a great spot to visit for anyone that enjoys nature.

Went to PEEC and decided to do the Tumbling Waters Trail. The trail is 3 miles with 2 major steep hills, one is called "Killer Hill". The trails are very well marked and easy to follow. You will see a beautiful overlook of Delaware Valley and Kittatinny Mountains in New Jersey. At the half way point, you will take some switchbacks to the waterfall. The waterfall is not that big, but of course it is very pretty and a nice treat at the halfway point. Then you have to go back up the switchbacks and then you will ascend Killer Hill, it is a killer!! Towards the end of the trail you will see Pickerel Pond. The guides say that you need 2 hours to do this trail. It took us about 3 hours, but we took lots of break for pictures and hung out at the waterfall for awhile. They guide also says that moderate difficulty...I think it was very hard, probably the hardest hike I have ever done! But it was so worth it! Don't miss it!
