Soy del DF y jamás había ido a PV, seleccioné la opción en inglés para conocer a gente de otros lados (fue una buena decisión), conoces personas muy buena onda y que al igual que tú quieren pasarla bien. Un recorrido que se antoja para tener un panorama completo de lo que ofrece Vallarta en este aspecto; o bien, tomar el tour para al día conocer y elegir los bares a visitar durante tu estancia. If you're a gay man (cis or trans) visiting PV for the first time, I HIGHLY recommend this tour! Thr guides, Douglas and Max, we're super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the history of what makes PV a great gay destination.
The bars vary based on the group. I was traveling with my lartner and two friends, and we met up with another couple.
We decided to go to Reina's to start. The staff were very attentive and the drinks were STRONG. Very chill bar experience.
Next up was La Noche, a drag bar with a beautiful rooftop. This tour is a fav to interact with among the local performers and we got a lot of attention from Wendy the drag queen (who's great by the way!).
Then came Wet Dreams, one of the stripper bars. Not really our groups thing but it was interesting to experience. Our guides warned us about the aggressiveness of PV strippers and they did not lie. If you have trouble saying no, you will lose a lot of money in PV strip bars.
To round out the night was an upstairs circuit party at Studs which was fun but not terribly different than anything in San Francisco states-side .
Spring for the upgrade on drinks so you can get more than beer. Get a Flamingo at La Noche when/if you go!
One warning is that this tour (and PV generally) is not great for trans/fem people. It's not hostile by any means, but everything is very masc centric there. There is one really awesome fem bar we visited called Elixir. They had expert bartenders and a very nice proprietor named Alison which was the highlight of our fem friend's club night.

Highly recommend this gay bar tour for first timers, we had an amazing time. Started off meeting with Tim where he introduced us to his two guides, Max and Douglas. These guys were welcoming, engaging and full of spirit. Max and Douglas showed us around to a wide range of local bars and made us feel like a VIP. Definitely a 5 star experience.

The perfect way to introduce oneself to the gayborhood if your visiting Puerto Vallarta for the first time. Located in Old Town Colonia Romantica district.
Very lively district with lots of gay venues, bars, strip joints and delicious eateries.
I had a wonderful guide from Mexico City whom always had my back, laid back and easy to talk too. His english was very good. Enjoyed this tour immensely.
The drag show was by an American performer whom was good and quite knowledge and likeable. She poses for pictures with you afterwards.
Very lively district with lots of gay venues, bars, strip joints and delicious eateries.

This was a great way to become acclimated with the gay bar area of Puerto Vallarta. Tim had our tour well organized and his tour guides were fabulous. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone coming to Puerto Vallarta for their first visit. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

While we have visited PV before, we wanted to learn about the gay bar scene and this was the best decision to do just that! Tim provided thoughtful guidance to make the most of our evening. Max was the best tour guide who customized the itinerary to make sure we had the best time and celebrate my partner’s birthday! For the rest of the trip, we now know what where we want to return and explore because of this tour. We cannot recommend this activity!

Highly recommend this, especially if you're traveling solo or if you're gay and it's your first time to PV. If so, be sure to do this on the first night or two of your trip as that will unlock so much more for you the rest of your stay. Tim and Max were great and highly knowledgeable about the gay scene in PV. You could ask them any and all questions, and they'd give thoughtful/honest answers. I left this feeling super comfortable exploring the rest of the gay scene here like a bird learning to fly for the first time.
The provided dinner was really delicious - had a great appetizer and a delicious seafood dish. A good base for the drinks to come! We went to a handful of bars and had drinks provided at each one, and Max had some really great insights into those bars but also the ones we didn't go to as well. Tim gave us some sweet Andrew Christian swag too.
Ended up hanging out with the other person on the tour after we wrapped and had one of the best nights of my life (no exaggeration) exploring the gay scene in the Romantic Zone. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience bar hopping with Gay Vallarta. Both Tim (who met us for just the beginning of the tour) and MJ who was our main guide for the night, were very considerate and engaging. There were just the two of us, and as we were having dinner at a restaurant before heading to the bars, they made sure we discuss the bar options for the night. They really tried to make sure we get to experience what we were mostly interested in when it comes to local gay bar scene.
I personally really enjoyed the life Reggie music at La Catrina.
I’d definitely recommend doing this tour. Especially if you’re visiting PV for the first time.

Very lively and diverse gay mens scene in PV! Our host Tim was very knowledgeable about the PV bar scene which was interesting and helpful...The group was the 2 of us, the 2 guides and one other local couple who knew Tim. We would not rate this as VIP, (adequate dinner, no reserved areas at the bars, and the real sin was the drinks were terrible so I switched to cervesas). Could’ve done all of this on our own…

Since 2011 we strive for VIP service every tour. I was personally next to our guest for his meal and drinks and when I asked him if "the meal was good" he replied "yes". Merida Grill has its own 4.5 star Tripadvisor rating so now sure why it was just "adequate" I personally reserved seating at 3 of the 4 venues when they arrived so not sure there is a claim for no reserved areas. "Terrible drinks" never 1 word said by our guest nor the others who what a great time on the same tour. So not sure as to many of the issues...Should we have assumed there was an issue when the drink choice changed...yes, we will...We are very Sorry for an average experience that is not our norm. W
e try hard to excel.

My husband and I had an amazing time on this tour! I booked it for his 40th birthday as a surprise. Tim and Max were the best hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the PV bar scene and were tons of fun. They even planned a surprise birthday game for my husband! The group we were with were also fun people. In fact, we went out to the bars a few nights in a row after the tour, but we had more fun with tour than when we went on our own! Definitely book this tour, you will have a blast.

We had a great time meeting the other bar hoppers for the evening as well as our guides Tim, and Max. Everyone was nice and we cut up all night. The guides were accommodating, the venues were a blast, and it was a great way to spend a night there. Would definitely recommend. We started with dinner, and we ended after several drinks surrounded by immodestly dressed gentleman who were some of the hardest working folks I'd ever met. -Dennis and Nick
