Upon arriving in South Queensferry, our driver was no where to be found! Luckily, another tour guide had Alan Fee's (owner of Ecosse Executive - Day Tours) number and we were quickly communicating via text. We were told our driver was stuck in traffic (due to an accident ~ no fault of his) and would be there as soon as possible. As all are aware, on vacation "time is your currency" and we spent 1.5 hours of our 8 hour day (approximately 20%) waiting for Paul, our driver to arrive. Once onsite the vehicle was immaculate and Paul did a great job with the remaining 6.5 hours ~ but time lost, is time lost. Our first stop was a detour to Falkland village where scenes of Outlander were filmed and we were serenaded by a local gentleman. Paul made the remaining 80% of the day engaging, enjoyable, and customized to our interests, yet somewhat rushed as he kept us moving along. We viewed the Forth Rail Bridge, took pictures at the famous bridge on the 18th hole of the St. Andrews course, enjoyed lunch at a tavern in St. Andrews, visited the Dunfermline Abbey ruins, but not really sure we saw much of East Neuk or the coastline. We would have loved to have another 1.5 hour of our day with Paul to expand our knowledge of this beautiful country and be entertained along the way. We lost approximately 20% of our day due to a traffic accident and Alan has determined that no compensation at all will be provided. So in short ~ based upon other reviews ~ if all goes well you will have a GREAT time/tour, but if there are issues, do not expect to be compensated by Ecosse Executive - Day Tours.

Hi Cyndi, As discussed during several communications with you after your tour. I fully appreciate that you got of to a bad start with the delays etc, and I would have been more accommodating to your demanded partial refund, if you had been less threatening? Although everything on your programme was covered AND as you said, Paul detoured from the route to allow you time to see Falkland village as you had enthused about Outlander. I understand that it was you and your party that said you had to be back to your ship early, as the last tenders were leaving earlier than originally planned? Regards, Alan

Horrible experience. Driver never showed up. Tried calling several times and got voice mail and never received call back. RUINED OUR DAY!! Don’t use this company. They are a fraud!!

Our tour was to take place on June 10, 2023 at 9:00 AM. On June 9, 2023, at 10:18 AM Toronto time (3:18 PM London england time) We receivied an e-mail saying "Unfortunately your tour operator for Private Day Trip to St Andrews Dunfermline and the Fife Coast from Edinburgh had to cancel your booking." No other explanation was given. Needless to say this late notice left us no time to make other arrangements. Very disappointing. Trip advisor has refunded the cost of the tour.

The trip to St Andrew’s was very enjoyable. Our driver Graeme was very entertaining and very knowledgeable, giving us plenty of time at each stop to explore. Bus was, wry comfortable also.

Had a terrific time on this tour. Alan was knowledgeable, funny and friendly. Kept both kids and adults engaged and entertained the entire day. We were only in Scotland for a brief visit and this was an outstanding way to do the must-see’s in a day. Would 100% use Ecosse Executive again on any future visits.

I am from SC and I booked this tour online. I corresponded several times with Allen Fee and he was very helpful and responsive to my questions. We were met on Sunday morning at 9AM by Allen and Paul our tour guide. Paul was an outstanding guide and went over and above to accommodate all we wanted to do. I would highly recommend this company.

Alan met us at the dock with a big smile and hearty laugh! First off, his Mercedes van was spotless and very comfortable for all of us. St. Andrews Golf Course was on my husbands bucket list and he was not disappointed at all. Alan made sure that we received a good mix of history along with interesting stories for each stop we made throughout the day. We had three grandchildren (11, 13, 14) on the vacation with us and they were never bored throughout the day. Out first stop was Dunfermline Abby and Palace and then drove to Anstruther where we had the best fish and chips during our trip to the British Isles. Alan knew exactly what to see at St. Andrews and where to get the best pictures. We stopped in the Jubilee Course gift shop so my husband could buy shifts and hats and golf balls for everyone back home. If you want an amazing guide while you are in Scotland, please use Ecosse Executive and ask for Alan. He made our trip to Scotland one of the most memorable experiences we have had while traveling.

Alan was amazing! He's very knowledgeable, engaging and enjoys some good banter with the group. We did a modified tour for our group of 11 (which included 2 seniors, 6 adults and 2 children and an infant) to which there was never a dull moment. I know when I go back to Scotland, I'll be contacting this proud Scotsman! Thank you for your services kind sir!

Thank you Alan for a fantastic experience! My family had a wonderful time exploring Scotland with you at the helm sharing his knowledge of the country and giving us a good laugh along the way! This private tour tops any tour that we've previously been on, hands down! The bus and amenities provided make the trips extremely enjoyable as well. I cannot recommend Ecosse more highly and look forward to booking another tour in the near future!!

Hi,
The “overview of the tour” and the “what you can expect” descriptions are very different. Which description is most accurate? My husband definitely wants to visit the Old Course at St. Andrews.
We will be arriving by Viking cruise lines on June 24th and we’re interested in a private day tour of the area, including St. Andrews.
Pleas let me know which description is most accurate and how long the tour would take. We don’t want to miss our departing ship!

We are touring the Edinburgh Castle at 10 AM. Can we leave around 1 PM and still do this tour? Our ship doesn't leave until 11 PM?

Arriving by ship on July 30 for the day. Want to see St Andrews golf course. Do not have time for the full tour as ship leaves at 7:00. Can you recommend A driver for 2-4 adults with shorter time?
