This is a very enjoyable to her that I had a great pace. You have plenty of time for each location. The highlight for us was the dog sledding.

Best Experience of Our Entire Trip!
jul de 2021
We spent 10 days in Alaska this summer and this tour was probably the highlight of our trip! We loved every minute of it!

Our guide, Doug, was a great guide and driver--he had lots of interesting stories and so much knowledge about the local community.

We loved the experience at Seavey's. I wish we could remember the name of the girl who gave our tour and presentation because she was outstanding--we can't say enough about how great she was. We learned a lot about the Iditarod race and how mushers prepare for it. We absolutely loved snuggling those sweet puppies--they fell right asleep in our arms. And the sled dog ride was so fun and such a unique experience! We have been to other sled dog facilities throughout Alaska and this one was by far the best experience we have had.

We lunched at a different restaurant than the tour description said we would with no explanation for why that was. It was fine and the food was good, but it was all the way in downtown Seward and we felt like we lost a lot of time driving there and back.

We enjoyed our time at Exit Glacier, but wish we'd had a little more time there. It felt sort of rushed and no one wants to be the last one back to the bus holding up the group. We talked with the rangers and got our junior ranger badges and did the 1 mile RT hike to the glacier viewpoint, which was beautiful. If we'd had more time we'd have done the more strenuous 2 mile RT hike to get closer.

After leaving the Exit Glacier we visited a salmon stream, which was kind of interesting.

Doug got us back to the railroad station in plenty of time to board the train for our evening departure back to Anchorage! Overall, probably the best tour we took in Alaska this summer and we'd highly recommend!

Fun Tour with Exception
jun de 2021
Overall tour was good with a nice lunch. However at the Seavey's Ididaride while the staff where harnessing the dogs to the carts they were to pull I noticed one dog had a lame hind leg. Despite this the dog was harnessed up. I mentioned this to the woman who had just completed our introductory orientation. She subsequently went to the kennel had a discussion with the woman who harnessed up the dog and then unharnessed the dog and took him back to his kennel. I later asked her what had occurred. She explained that the dog had been lame for a couple of days but didn't explain why he was initially harnessed. Anyway, it seems that they were prepared to run this dog despite his condition without my speaking up. Very concerning.

You are absolutely right, Magnus had a sore foot and was not supposed to be running. However, the way our dogs live - loose in big pens - can make it hard to keep them straight for new staff. We had a new helper who put the wrong dog on the line, and as you saw, the mistake was quickly corrected before the dog actually ran. I noticed it too, and made arrangements to move him to a different location so that can’t happen again before you wrote this review.

This tour was so much fun. As a dog lover, it was so incredible to learn how the dogs are cared for, run and about their overall care. You actually get to play with the dogs and feel like you’re part of the sled team. The lunch and Exit glacier tour were an added bonus!

No Refunds or Changes
ene de 2021 • Pareja
After paying for 2 on this day trip, my Cruise ship canceled their Alaska cruises one month later.
5 months before this trip, no refund at all, zero from Kenali Fjords guided tour.
No nothing, not even a credit for the future.
No changes and no refunds. And no communication.

We responded to this guest within 3 hours, offering free changes to future dates. That being said, we do advise checking cancellation policies before booking on 3rd party sites like this.

Great bang for your buck day trip!
We took the 6 hour tour with Seavey's. This is a great option for a trip that lets you do a lot of stuff in 6 hours for a great price. We started with a trip to the dog kennels, where we were loaded onto a sled for our land sled ride. The dogs are full of energy and were eager to take off. It was a really cool experience watching and feeling 14 dogs pull a sled that's 900lbs without passengers. The ride was about 20 minutes long, plus some stops for pictures. The trail itself is pretty boring, but you'll be watching the dogs. After the ride, we got to spend time petting the dogs that pulled us, and then got to meet/cuddle with a variety of puppies and some older retired huskies. The dogs are all very friendly and energetic. I'm not even a dog person and I loved these dogs. After that, they take you into another building to see a demonstration of how the Idadarod works (harnessing/dressing the dogs, equipment, etc.). You can ask tons of questions and it's very informative. After that, they put you on a bus and take you out to lunch at the Resurrection Roadhouse restaurant. The food was mostly decent and the portions were large. After lunch, they take you to the Exit Glacier, where you are left for about 1h45m to hike on your own to the glacial overlook point. The catabatic winds made the end of this short hike very chilly, so dress appropriately for your season. Last but not least, we were given a short bus tour of Seward. Overall, a great day and a full day that's definitely a great intro to the area.

Great overview packed with variety!
ago de 2019
We enjoyed this tour even though we had already strolled through Seward. The driver was engaging, the tour and ride at Ididaride was very interesting and seemed to be enjoyed by all ages, the hike at Exit Glacier offered an easy and moderate option for hiking and the views of the glacier were very worthwhile, the driver added interesting information about Seward, and took us to some local memorials which also had bald eagles nests, where we watched an eagle catch a salmon. The lunch was tasty at a nice restaurant. Recommended and a good use of time.

Amazing visit to learn and meet the iditarod sled dogs & glacier hike
ago de 2019 • Pareja
We had an excellent experience on this tour! Our guide Katie was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell that these people really care for these dogs and love them like their own. The dogs get to roam around their tether-free outdoor “kennels” and they are darn cute doing so! We got to meet the “celebrity” dog that starred in Disney movie “Snow Buddies” and also got to hold and play with some of the puppies!
Lunch was included with the tour and was good/fast service. Our tour guide Mike for the exit glacier hike was very outgoing and gave us great tips and anecdotes. The exit glacier hike was very easy and worth the view. We went the first week of August, so it ended up being very warm. I ended up taking off all the layers I had packed thinking it would be cold near the top of the glacier overlook. I would very much recommend this tour to anyone going to Seward or if you don’t mind the drive from anchorage (it was about a 2 hour and 20 minute drive from downtown anchorage).
