great trip

had a great day with mario full of information and took us to some wonderful places. views were magnificent and we had a great laugh. be prepared for rough roads but we did go to some remote places which you normally wouldn’t see

Recommend this tour for Day 1 in Barbados!

Very nice tour with Junior! Pick up/drop off was seemless - beautiful views and history. Bring water as it can get warm-highly recommend!

Great tour!

Mario is a proud Barbadian with a tremendous amount of knowledge about his island and its rich history. It was an enjoyable day and we saw so much of the island and learned a great deal about it. Highly recommend this tour.

Great way to see the island, had so much fun. Made some stops at the perfect locations, lunch was great, full of information about everything on the island.. AND saw MONKEYS !!!

Great way to get an overview of Barbados

Mario is awesome. Saw a lot of the island. Much knowledge was shared. Lunch was very good. Mario shared a few homemade treats along with the rum punch. Great value for the money.

Worth every penny

The communication with this tour company was excellent from the start. They offered pick-up from many locations so we selected the hotel closest to our Air BnB, a 5 minute walk away.
The owner/tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and safety-minded which was important to us. He reviewed the safety procedures at the start and drove carefully throughout. I was worried about feeling motion sickness from bumpy roads but it was the perfect mixture of smooth driving with some off-roading to reach a few breathtaking views.
I’ve been on many tours in many different countries and this is one of the best in terms of quality. Mario’s voice is clear, easy to understand, easy to hear. He provided information about Barbados that was historical and cultural. He mixed in many interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the island, discussed celebrities and billionaires, all with an entertaining and comedic enthusiasm. It’s clear he loves this gig.
The tour itself is well-paced with enough stops to take in the beauty, snap some pics and stretch your legs. The meal was amazing: chicken and fish with rice and a salad. Vegetarian options are available but you have to request in advance.
We were dropped off in the same location, a true 6 hour tour filled to the brim with sights and experiences, and worth every penny.

Fantastic experience with great tour guide!

We have just returned from this tour, which we went on today… pick up at 8.30 am from our hotel
Junior was excellent and friendly, with great banter.
As natives of Barbados, Junior’s knowledge will not disappoint. He knew so much about each town and area.
The banana and coconut bread were a treat and home made too!.

Lunch was beautiful with fish, rice, chicken, and salad with beer or a drink of your choice.Our favourites included Spice town, Hole town and going up into Cherry Grove.
We saw monkeys,lots of bald sheep which were interesting.

It's well worth the time and money and would recommend you do it early in your trip, just in case there are places you want to go back to.

All round, fantastic experience!

Brilliant scenic tour of Barbados

What a great day we had on the Island Explorer Tour of Barbados. Collected at our hotel by Mario and Junior in a 10 Seater tour bus.

The tour was extensive and covered all but 2 of the parishes. Mario and Junior were very knowledgable about the island, its history and culture. Mario’s commentary was both insightful and humorous. We stopped and tried a rum punch as well as cake and sweets made by Mario’s wife. Then stopped for a typical Barbadian lunch at the top of cliff overlooking some stunning scenery on the East Coast of the island. Mario was also brilliant at taking photos and shared great tips for getting the best pictures of our trip.

I would highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting the beautiful island of Barbados

Fabulously informative and entertaining trip!

We have just returned from this tour which we went on today…
Mario and Junior were excellent, friendly and the quick wit from Mario’s commentary had the whole group in laughter. As natives of Barbados, Mario and Junior’s knowledge will not disappoint.

Mario’s stories included personal experiences too and his wife’s banana and coconut loaf, which were shared with the group, went down a treat. So very thoughtful…ooh and there was a taster of the island’s Christmas drink too - which is rum mixed with sorrell - delicious.

We would highly recommend this tour - do it early on in your trip as it gives you a lot of the useful info which will inform what you might do next.

5 years but worth the wait !

5 years ago just before Covid locked down the world we were lucky enough to enjoy Mario’s tour and left with many happy memories. We came back to Barbados with friends and one of the essential things to do was take them on the tour. This time we were picked up by Mario and Junior in a new jeep and set off on our adventure. We were not let down , the tour was as informative and humorous as we remembered with a few new tweaks along the way . Definitely recommended and when we return we will catch up with Mario and Junior again .

Hi, you travel the majority of the coast but come in land a bit too. An excellent way to see the different coastline and sights. Plus you have the landover experience so not stuck inside a bus. I hope of help

We are currently $87.50USD per person and that includes drinks, snacks, lunch and a very comprehensive history, geography and culture of the island not to mention a bit of local humor.😄 Taking the local transportation i.e. bus is a great way to get from your hotel to Bridgetown or a beach but not a good way to see the Island as you would have to take several different buses as there is no bus that will take you around the island and it would take forever as the bus will be stopping every kilometer or less to lead people on and off of the bus and there will be no commentary so no history, geography or humor.😄 Hope that our answer was helpful and as of now we do have a few seats available for this Wednesday January 10, 2018.

How do I go about booking a tour with you? We'd love to do the tour the day after we arrive (August 5)! I went to your website, filled out my name and email in the "book here" area, but there is no calendar (that I could see) and no instructions on how to book. I have a problem walking. I use a cane, I can't climb or walk very far. Except for getting out to view and take pictures do you think a 67 year old woman would be able to do this? Also what is the cost of the tour in September? thanks for your time. Sincerely, Michelle

Hi there Michelle, this tour is not suitable for you as there is four stops that require you to get in and out of the Land Rover and there is a bit of walking on each stop including our lunch stop that has a flight of stairs. Our price is USD$87.50 per person.
