Fun!

We just did the 1 1/2 hr ride. Dont think my butt could've taken much more! LOL Went thru a couple of shallow creeks. Saw some Elk. Nancy & staff were very friendly & you could tell they really care about the horses! Would go again!

Fun time!

Absolutely gorgeous trail for the ride. Took quite a while to get the horses assigned and ready. Wished that the tour guide had talked more about the areas history. Even had a couple creek crossings, which was new.

Saddle Up and Do It!

This was the best horse riding trip. Our guide Jordan was very friendly and informative. The views were stunning, especially of the continental divide. This is a must do for your trip and the location is especially convenient being located inside RMNP!

Great Ride But Guide Was Odd
ago de 2019 • Amigos
We went for the 3 hour Emerald Mountain ride. Overall, our ride was a positive experience. The horses were well-behaved, the staff at the stables were kind and helpful, and the ride was beautiful. Our guide, Mak, however, talked the majority of the ride. While some of what he had to say about the park was interesting, and he was kind enough to take our pictures, he went on for over 45 minutes about solar flare conspiracies. The ride would have been much more enjoyable had he simply allowed for silence.

3 hour Ride
jun de 2019
We took the 3 hour trail ride to Wind River and it was amazing!
The views are breathtaking and the trail takes you through so many different terrains. We have an 11 year old and haven’t ridden horses in quite a while, for us 3 hours was just right.
Rose was our guide and she was fantastic.

Mixed Review

My teenage son and I took a 2-hour tour over Memorial Day weekend. We have extremely limited experience on horses. We booked the day of in person and were scheduled to ride out with another party. The other party never showed, and we went out on our own about 15 minutes late. In two places, one with thick mud and one with slick snow, I was more than a little nervous, but that added to the fun! Mak was our private tour guide. My son thought Mak was the highlight of our entire trip to RMNP. He absolutely loved the knowledge of the park and the other stories he shared. It was great that we were not in a larger group. Our tour took us mostly through wooded areas with limited views. I didn’t expect mountain-top views, but I had hoped for some streams or open meadows of wildlife. We sadly saw the destruction pine beetles have had on the forest. We did get some views of the continental divide, but it was nothing we hadn’t seen from other parts of the park. Our tour ended a little early, which would normally frustrate me, but I wasn’t into it enough to keep going. Overall, I would give this tour a 2, but my son would give it a 5. With that said, I would do it all again because he loved it!!

5 Hour ride

The 5 hour horseback ride was terrific. I Will definitely book this ride at Glacier Stables again next year. The wranglers were very nice, selected a great horse for me. Frosty was a great horse to ride.

Continental Divide Ride

Riding the Continental Divide ride was an amazing day full of adventure, wildlife, and a great time had by all. I would highly recommend Sombrero Stables for any horseback trip. The staff is curtious, friendly, and top notch wranglers. The horses are fantastic as well. Although this ride was challenging at times, it was simply amazing! The scenery was absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend it.

Great way to see the Rockies
jul de 2018 • Familia
We took a 3-hour ride with Serena. She was excellent, putting everyone at ease and leading us on a lovely ride up and down Emerald Mountain. My kids (11 & 12) agreed that this was the best way to see the Rockies--they enjoyed it way more than the previous day's hike up Flattop Mountain.
