What a lovely marina and a fabulous bunch of people running it. From the minute we arrivd and were then handed over our boat, it was an absolute pleasure. The boat was spotless, and very well equipped. It was a Canal Boat club, but we have also been from here on ABC baothire boast too, which were equally good. As seasoned boaters we were just taken out of the marina after a few quesetions to ensure we remembered everything we needed to. On our return, they were even more helpful, and put up with us while we waited for the AA to start the car and change the battery. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this boatyard, and ABC boathire and Canal Boat Club boats. It was also in a very beautiful area for boating, with relatively little traffic and moored boats too. SOme fabulous spots out of the way to moor, and the famous aquaduct close bytoo, as well as the meres. Great holiday, great boatyard, great boats.

Great narrow boat experience with easy reservation process. Nice people at the marina giving us instruction on how to operate the boat, locks, pedestrian bridges etc. Andy went above and beyond in making an arrangement for us to get to the train station after our boating experience. Thank you, Andy. We really appreciated that!

The narrow boat was clean and tidy when we were given access. Instructions were given re water, fuel etc. We stocked up at the local supermarket and set off. Encountering bridge's and narrow areas are part and parcel of the trip and so much fun. Slowly and getting the right line is key to success. We were four adult males and the narrow boat is well named space is crucial. However, we throughly enjoyed our week on the canals it was a great experience. There are loads of watering holes on route and we never had a bad meal. We visited Llangollen and booked to go through the Montgomery. (See separate reviews re the watering holes). On return again the staff were fantastic and we were on the road in no time. A hugh thank you to the staff at Blackwater for there help and professionalism.

Wonderful relaxing trip on narrow boat on one of the most beautiful and interesting canal stretches in UK. The friendliness and support from Marina team was outstanding. We will be back!

We have just taken a 3 night holiday on the 8 berth - 69’ Warbler. All 5 of us were novices. From the moment we drove into Blackwater Meadow Marina it had a lovely welcoming and organised feel. The boat was ready early and we were able to unload the cars close to the boat before our tutorial. This boat is huge and a bit daunting at first but travelling at our own speed towards Trevor gave us plenty of experience before the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The boat was immaculate with every convenience catered for . Fantastic family holiday and cannot recommend this company and the trip along the Llangollen Canal highly enough. Thank you so much for giving my cousin another tick on her bucket list!!!

Friendly, polite and professional from first contact. We were delighted with our narrow boat and had some very good coaching on how to manage it.
However, a simple map showing water taps and good stopping places would have been helpful and some of the pubs named on the information sheet no longer exist - so in need of updating.
A couple of points for first timers:
Beware Trevor Wharf, it is a nightmare made more complicated by being right at the end of the Aqueduct and a lot of people wanting to turn round because there are very few places to moor.
Do take good torches for the Chirk Tunnel to help the navigation.

Fast efficient service on checking-in. Full and complete explanation of the Canal Boat workings and explanation of the workings of the Lock via models to explain the procedure. All bases covered and and some helpful handy hints for first timers like us. If in Doubt Stop !. all equipment was clean and well maintained, the Marina is well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. if your not sure (as i was) ask again their staff are incredibly patient. We took our small dog with us and paid a bit extra obviously for the pet hair clean at the end of the week. Thanks guys it was so good we are looking at another Boating Holiday.

For our first time on a narrow boat, I cannot recommend this company and venue high enough. Staff were efficient helpful and polite in helping us get away on a wonderful experience. The boat was spotlessly clean and instruction and tour given by knowledgeable staff we went to Llangollen and back in a week, over 2 aqueducts through 2 tunnels and 2 locks, in each direction, a great experience.
