I went to snorkel on a Saturday and it was closed. Who closes an attraction on a Saturday? There was a vehicle directly behind me trying to go in as well. Talk about a very not smart decision. I was also going to take some pictures of the Pirates relates things for my mother back home. Someone is not thinking. I used navigation to try another route in, but it took me to someone's driveway. What a disappointment after an hour drive.

Wallilabou Anchorage is where "Pirates of the Caribbean" was filmed. You can visit the movie set. Disney built the Port Royal set building to recreate a pirate town in the 18th century. You can walk around but there is not that much to see.

Today we were on St. Vincent with the MSC Seaside and wanted to go to Wallilabou Bay. A cheeky taxi driver took us there for 70 US$ and brought us back with enough time to relax. After a less than relaxing journey, he gave us 50 minutes to stay there, even though we had clearly stated beforehand that we wanted lunch and snorkeling. We ordered our food at the Wallilabou Anchorage Restaurant and told the owners about our taxi experience. They then offered to take us back to the ship later for free, as they still had to go into town anyway. So we sent the taxi driver back and enjoyed the simple but very authentic and tasty food. There was Fish Creole for me and Creole Chicken for my wife. And the best rum punch of our trip so far. The prices were very reasonable! We only paid 43 US$ for the two meals, three rum punches, a mineral water and a Diet Coke, which is more than just a fair price. Then I was able to go snorkeling in peace and take in the beautiful atmosphere there with all the props from the Pirates of the Caribbean film. Then the lovely owners of the restaurant took us back to the ship and told us a few interesting stories on the way. Overall a very positive experience that we can recommend to every visitor to St. Vincent. An absolute recommendation 👍👍👍

Wallilabou Bay is where the opening scenes of the Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. I was quite excited to see the place, but was in a world of disappointment. This is one over hyped place and a tourist trap. There are very few to almost no props lying around as advertised. They are desperate to still get tourists of a 2003 movie which now no where resembles anything like the movie set. The restaurant needs a serious face lift as well.
The needle rock with 3 hanging skeletons from the movie can be seen clearly (See photos). The pier is quite nice, and we spent some time wandering around the pier and soaking in the sunshine.
I saw some of the old photos on Trip Advisor and i am guessing that most of it was destroyed in the hurricane and the current set is what they could do best to restore it to its original glory.

I was surprisingly enchanted by this weird stop from a boat excursion. We were mostly volcano viewing, but this strange homage to Johnny Depp and a Pirates movie is certainly memorable. I would not have wanted to stay for very long, but it was just creepy enough to be interesting. We were told that hurricanes destroyed most of the original set, but still....

This is where they filmed PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, and it was fun to see the old movie set. You don't need much time here, and this was part of our entire day tour. We enjoyed what it had to offer and fun taking photos of an old tattered movie set.

We stopped here on an island tour of St. Vincent. It was advertised as the site where the opening scenes of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie were filmed. This is true, but there is not too much left of how it looked in the movie. It seemed a bit tattered and tacky with pirate statues and paraphernalia scattered around. There were some faded movie posters and photos inside a building with rusting movie reels standing along the wall. It was still fun to imagine what it must have looked like during the filming, so we had a good time... but I wouldn't plan my whole visit to St. Vincent around it as an attraction!
