It is not often where I write a review for a tour guide that is lower than four or five stars, yet this is the exception. This tour guide had agreed, in writing, to a private multi-day tour. However, the morning of the first day he suddenly changed everything to a group tour setup. This is problematic on multiple fronts (the old bait-and-switch that is). The priced tour was at a private rate that far exceeded any group rate you can find on the island. He paired people of disparate interests and skill-sets into the roughly, though not entirely, pre-agreed itinerary. After speaking quietly with other guests on this now group tour, it became clear some of them were misled as well. He also does contract out some of these tours to other operators (nature/hiking, boating, that tar pit guide, etc...) and they *all* individually had their own, independent, (negative) experiences with Mitch.
That said, I would recommend NOT using this operator and going to the multiple other options available. Trinidad also seems to be a place where you can reliably organize a tour upon arrival as well.
This review would've been one-star had the original itinerary not actually been completed. At no point was a refund nor any remediation effort made during this tour.
