Fernando was amazing, spoke in English and Spanish perfectly. Explained safety issues before we started and then we had a blast! Perfect sunset and drinks for the evening.

Our group of friends were cruise ship passengers and set up a 5 hour sail. An easy $20 cab ride from the port (RCCL ship) and we easily found the office. We we re checked in and met owner Dan who took us to the Tucan. Captain Juan and mate Enrique were OUTSTANDING! From the mixed drinks to the lunch they prepared - simply delicious. Enrique was in the water leading our group in snorkeling - had plenty of equipment for us. I can't say enough about the day - it was literally my most favorite day of 2024.
I should also add that Juan told us he has worked for Dan and his family for 25 years. He couldn't say enough about how great they were and fortunate he was to spend his days on the water. I can't wait to go back to Cozumel just for another day with this crew!

Capt. Juan and crew where awesome as always! this is our third trip on the Toucan. Our first was in 2018 and this has turned into a family tradition for us. All I can say is we love this excursion. in fact it's the only one we do inn Cozumel. We are already booked for next year. You get great views, booze and awesome guacamole and the food is awesome and made right in front of you. I recommend booking a private sailing as this is the way to go. Tell Them Joe sent you!!

Excellent 6.5 hour trip with Juan and Enrique! The Tucan is a really well appointed catamaran and the food, snorkeling, and Spinnaker rides were all perfect. The trip also included a nice restful beach stop at a small deserted island. Trip sails out of the nice Puerto Abrigo Marina in the northern hotel zone area and the boat has plenty of shade, if desired.
A great crew and fun (6) fellow shipmates...Go Hawkeyes!... Karen's tireless work to find me a spot on a trip with low season approaching was much appreciated. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our full day sail. The hosts were friendly and we felt so welcome on their boat. The full day sail included beautiful stops at a secluded beach, snorkeling, spinnaker rides, excellent lunch, and delicious and strong drinks. We were lucky to have a fun set of other guests on board and we all had a fun day together. I enjoyed that the day was very family friendly, and the amount of guests is limited so it did not feel crowded at all. I would highly recommend a day with Cozumel Sailing.

We were very fortunate to have a private sail on the Tucan! The day was amazing…crystal clear water and amazing blue sky. The crew took excellent care of us and let us decide what we wanted to do. We have been on the Tucan before so didn’t feel the need to snorkel or go to the private beach, but all of that is fun! We just love to sail, and so we did! What a beautiful day thanks to the wonderful crew. Juan cooked us a delicious lunch right on the boat. .. pico, quac, chips, fish in a white sauce, carrot salad, chicken wings and fajitas with all the fixings! Plus, we could have just about anything we desired to drink, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Our day on the Tucan was the best day of our vacation! We cannot thank Karen and her crew enough for being so generous and accommodating. Can’t wait to sail again with our family next time!

We did a private catamaran day trip. This by far was thr highlight of you cruise, from the Communication when I had Questions to the fabulous food that was prepared for us while on board to letting the guys troll for fish on the way out. They even called for our taxi to get back to the ship. He was waiting on the dock when we pulled back up.
Thank you for taking such good care of our party of 5. If we ever come back we will do it again 💯

The Cozumel Dinner Cruise that's advertised on the top of this page for $85 has nothing to do with Cozumel Sailing. It's very confusing but you have to go directly to the website to book with Cozumel Sailing. There's no way to get this advertisement off this page is there? I don't like that they are using Cozumel Sailing's reviews to promote a tour that has nothing to do with this company!

I've tried many times to Contact Tripadvisor to try and get the add removed since it looks like it's affiliated with Cozumel Sailing but it is NOT! I don't know what else to do but please don't be fooled by the deceptive add on this page. It is NOT Cozumel Sailing. Cozumel Sailing can be reached directly through the website listed.

Hi!
I have a couple of questions! I’ll be stopping at Comzumel on Carnival Cruise. I am interested in getting out in the open water - not just a few feet from the cruise ship like most other tours. Is this tour a decent sail out in the waters? Also, I’m looking to swim. I want to know will they let you dive off the boat in the deep away from the shore? Not snorkel, not fish, just jump in the water for a quick swim? Also how is the ladder to get back in the boat? I’m heavy and I’m 43. A great swimmer and can pull myself out of a pool ladder, etc. If the ladder on the boat has only one rung, I don’t know about that hahaa! Also concerned about getting back to my boat on time. Not worried about taxis etc as I know that’s not the tour’s responsibility but I can’t be out 8 hours. Will they accommodate this? Do they have soft drinks on board and do they cost?
Thank you!!

They usually sail out to the north end of the island toward the deserted beaches. They're very flexible as far as their schedule, there is plenty of time to swim and the ladder is no problem. Lunch, soft drinks and alcohol are included in the price. They will get you back in time to make your boat and will have a taxi waiting for you. Personally I love this excursion. No worries, sit back relax and enjoy.

Info for a sunset sail Jan6-20...for 10 fun-loving active seniors? Staying at Occidental.
Price, hrs on water, what’s included?
Minimum number for sunset tour.
Can’t wait for some 🌞!

If I remember correctly I think it was 35 per person. About 2 1/2 to 3 hrs on water, beer, I think mixed drinks, soft drinks and snacks (wings, nachos, etc). We did go for a late dinner after we returned because we weren't stuffed, but there was plenty. I seem to think we needed to be at the dock by maybe 4:30 and got back on land by maybe 8 ish. It was great!

We are considering booking a sail excursion on Tucan while we are in Cozumel 9/23 - 9/30. I was very impressed with the reviews on TA. While perusing the photos posted by reviewers, I came across some that were disturbing. Passengers holding up protected sea creatures out of the water for "photo op", included a sea turtle and a starfish. Why is this practice tolerated?

Hi! Sorry for the super late reply and I'm sure you've already gone on your vacation but to address that concern, when I went, we were explicitly told by the crew not to bother the wildlife. I don't know if those people were told the same thing or if they were and decided to disregard the warning.

Looking at taking my son on a cruise this summer. It goes to Rotan and Cozumel. Is it their rainy season or should I wait til October?
Escrita el 21 de febrero de 2017
It's the tropics so it can rain anytime but I'd say it rains more in September. Summers are hot and beautiful!

We will be in Cozumel for 9 total hours, if our ship arrives on time. Has anyone had issues with taxis, travel times, tight return times, etc.? I've also been a victim of price gouging in the Caribbean when I needed to get back to a cruise ship. I'm curious as to what is considered a fair fare in Cozumel.
Escrita el 13 de noviembre de 2016
9 hours in port is perfect for the trip. The trip takes 6 1/2 and the office is only about a 15 - 20 minute taxi ride from the cruise ship piers. The crew will call in a taxi after the trip so you don't have to worry about how to get one. They use the same guy every time so they know he doesn't price gouge (it's George's brother-in-law). I'm not sure what the going price is for a taxi at this time and it also depends on which cruise ship pier you're coming in to but the prices should be posted at the cruise ship piers.

What time do you need to be there for the sunset sail?
Escrita el 12 de febrero de 2016
Sunset sail start times change depending on the time of year. Just contact me for when you'd like to go. We only do sunset sails when we get quite a few people together.

I am looking for a sail excursion in Cozumel and this private charter seems perfect. I went to their web site for information to pass on to my group, but cost for the private charter is not listed on the web page. Can you tell me what the cost is? Thanks!
Escrita el 2 de febrero de 2016
Price for a private trip just depends on how many people you have in your group. Just e-mail me and we'll figure out the details.

we have 2 families of 5. How many does the boat hold? are you available on 1/1?
Escrita el 12 de diciembre de 2015
Sorry for the late response but I don't get on here very often. We were closed for the holiday on the 1st of January. Price is $90 per adult (13 and up) and $45 per child (12 and under) for the public trip. We take around 16 to 17 people on a public trip but the boat holds up to 25.
