This place is truly something special, if you want peace, quite and no crowds you will have this cenote all to yourself. This was an amazing experience from the moment we got picked up, explored the property and got to privately snorkel in the cave. The hosts where very polite to us and the lunch after was a feast. It was beautiful homemade Mexican food.
Highly recommend if you want to try something different and have an experience you will never forgot.

This cenote was recommended by a new friend we met while on another excursion while visiting Tulum. We were wanting to see a cenote, but there are so many that we had a hard time choosing which one to see. We are so glad that this is the one we chose!

Ivay was our driver (as well as our amazing chef), and picked us up to take us into the jungle areas where this cenote sits in a private location away from the public. We were given a tour of the meditation room, sanctuary and spiritual areas that this amazing place provides.

We had the cenote to ourselves with our guide, Plamen, who answered our million and one questions and provided the secrets and beauty of the cenote, its creatures and history. We could tell that he truly loved this place, and we felt like guests in their home.

Our meal was more than just lunch, it was a multi-course, hand made, cultural feast! We even got to take the leftovers home. Everything about this meal was amazing and above and beyond our expectations of lunch.

I highly recommend this tour especially if you are looking for a peaceful, non touristy experience in a cenote with a staff that make you feel like you are guests in their home. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had 5 adults in our group.

We thank this crew for helping make our cenote experience one of the best we have ever had! Ivay is one of the kindest people we have ever met. We can't wait to return one day.

After meeting and quizzing Peter by chance in his beachside Tulum tourist booth, we (family of four adults) chose to do the private tour to the Cenote Ixtlan and were so pleased that we did.
All the arrangements were very straightforward and professional . Ivay picked us up and took us for a look through a small Mayan town on the way into the jungle.
The cenote location is in a beautiful and peaceful valley clearing in the jungle , surrounding the stupa which helps create a truly special atmosphere.
The open cave setting of the cenote is striking and we had a great time snorkelling our way around in the clear water, guided by Peter.
After having a cool beer and watching the abundant birdlife, we were served a fantastic multi-course banquet lunch at a grand table setting at the edge of the cenote, which was way beyond our expectations.
It is something we will never forget and highly recommended.

This place was amazing. If you go to Tulum, you cannot miss it.
Before we arrived our guides told us that this cenote transmitted a sense of peace and serenity, but words could not convey what it actually meant to be there. When we arrived to the place we understood what they meant.
The whole place was reserved only for me and my two friends. Our guides were welcoming, attentive and addressed any questions that we had. We did snorkeling in the cenote and then relaxed by walking around and sitting down by the table. The food was DELICIOUS!! (It was almost like a whole feast for 3 of us).
After a few hours, we realized that our whole mannerisms had changed. We were more calm, talking in a lower tone of voice and feeling generally at peace with the environment around us. It was an unforgettable experience. This place is really special, you would be missing out if you did not visit it during your stay in Tulum!

Words cannot express how impressed we were by this tour!

By chance we happened upon Peter in a Tulum tourist booth who recommended this private, guided tour of Cenote Ixtlan and we honestly could not be more grateful! This truly has been one of the best experiences of our entire Mexico trip!

This Cenote has only recently been made accessible to the public, so not only do you get to explore it all to yourself but it is also pristine, untouched and absurdly beautiful!

Plamen our guide was amazing.. he was friendly, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic! Being a cave diver and one that is actually in the process of exploring Ixtlan's cave system, he not only loves this Cenote but was more than happy to answer all our questions and tell us about its history and that of the local land and wildlife!

Also when they say they serve lunch they don't lie! We were expecting something modest but Ivay our driver and cook definitely delivered! The food was plentiful, scrumptious and even included homemade baklava and bread! Haha and the serving of guacamole was very generous!! Yum

Again thank you Peter, Ivay and Plamen!! You guys were truly amazing and went above and beyond to help us out!!!

Muchas Gracias

This experience was truly incredible and one of a kind. I went with two of my closest friends and we all agreed that it was one of the best parts of our trip to Mexico. We did the tour that included lunch and the cenote visit. The tour was totally private, for only us 3. The guides prepared an amazing lunch for the three of us and are very nice and delightful, as well as super knowdledgeable. This place is truly beautiful and relaxing. Snorkeling in the cenote was a great experience as well.
I highly recommend this tour to everybody who wants to enjoy themselves, experience cenotes, and be in a relaxing and beautiful environment.

Amazing time! We did the cenote + lunch tour and it exceeded our expectations. The staff was knowledgeable and we learned so much about Mexico. The cenote was private and unlike anything we've ever seen. Lunch was phenomenal. We've been here 12 days and it was one of the best meals we've had. Please go here, you won't be disappointed!!! So private and very very relaxing!

Was in Tulum recently and just happened to meet Peter of Private Jungle Tours. He told us about this amazing tour off the beaten path. We decided to book. Head diving instructor Ivo was very gracious to make sure we had our own personalized visit to all the things we wanted to see. Communication was fast and concise. We chose a jungle walk, a visit to the Stupa/meditation center, snorkeling in the Ixtlan cenote, and a temazcal session. A gracious fellow named Ivaylo picked us up promptly at our hotel, preparing us for all the things we would see and do. It's a nice drive through small villages and dirt roads to get there. After a nice walk in the jungle to see a newly discovered cenote, we headed down to the main cave, a beautiful cavernous cenote that also happens to be the longest single entrance cave dive in the world. The place, Ixtlan, is beyond description. Crystal clear water, so still and reflective it creates a mirror image of the stalactite encrusted ceilings. This place is amazing. Bats swoop above as you snorkel the ancient underground river. Catfish nibble at your toes. The underwater view is incredible and the water crisp and cool. Meanwhile, a temazcal was being prepared by a friendly fellow named Plamen for us nearby. We settled in for a meditative experience, accompanied by soft chanting and quiet reflection. I still don't have the words to describe this experience, but I felt cleansed and refreshed for many days after. Then another dip into Ixtlan and another trip to the temazcal. After drying off and gathering we were treated to a delightful meal of cochinita pabil and local vegetables. It's just too much to put into words the day we had. If you get the opportunity to experience this place, do not hesitate! It will by far be the most memorable experience of your whole trip to the Yucatan. Peter and Ivaylo are thoughtful guides, very knowledgeable in the local plants and animals. You will feel safe yet challenged as you take in all the natural beauty of this place.

My second time back😎 I couldn't wait to hear only jungle songs and be surrounded by the most relaxing environment possible. The first experience was a jungle tour to a hidden cenote like no other I have ever seen, then for the wonderful cenote on the property for a swim and a wonderful meal.
This week I went back for a Temazcal and it was an absolute amazing experience, I never knew I could sweat this much. The hosts were so kind and allowed us freedom to move around and not feel rushed or smothered like with usual tours, this is the best private tour I have had while living in Tulum for 3 years
Thanks guys you do an awesome job👍 See you again soon

The highlight of an amazing week in paradise!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a cenote experience that would be less touristy than some of the larger, more advertised ones. We couldn't help but notice during our time in Tulum, that many of the beautiful things to see, were overshadowed by large groups taking selfies or setting up self timed cameras and tripods. While we understand that an important part of traveling is photo documentation, we were looking for a break from cell phones and photo taking for the day because we wanted to fully absorb the beauty of the hidden treasures Mexico has to offer. We were lucky to meet Peter in Tulum- we chatted with him about cool things to see and he gave us a few recommendations for local places in town. We were unaware at first that he was even a tour guide because his approach was not pitchy and he wasn't trying to "sell" us anything. After talking for a while, we asked if he could suggest a more secluded, off-the-grid cenote. Peter told us a little about Ixtlan and it sounded exactly like what we were searching for.

With many tourist traps in the area, the idea itself sounded almost too good to be true. However, when we arrived to the cenote, it was clear we couldn't have prepared for what a truly incredible experience we had stumbled upon. Ivay and Peter are both humble, kind, and inviting but after talking with them for just an afternoon, it's clear how incredibly worldly and knowledgeable they both are. They shared information about the cenote, history of plants and local villages, and expanded upon the beautiful wildlife that have incorporated cenotes as part of their ecosystem. We were given full access to their private cenote with Peter as our guide. The water is crystal clear and snorkeling and exploring below the surface was both peaceful and breathtaking. Peter's experience with diving and guiding made us feel incredibly safe and comfortable. After our swim, Ivay prepared the most amazing meal for us to enjoy at a beautiful hand carved wooden table next to the cenote. We felt like royalty and could not have been luckier to spend our last day in Mexico with these guys. They are both the coolest guys who made us feel like friends by the end of the trip.

The work they do as guides is actually part of a bigger mission- focused upon ecological preservation. Its undeniable that Ixtlan is a sacred, special place to them and their desire to share its beauty with others is what motivates their work. Too cool! If you are looking for a private, exciting, safe excursion that is an incredible value, I don't think anything else is better.

Thank you guys so much! We cannot wait to return!
