The Mermaid's Market is a Puerto Penasco wonderful experience! Held in the heart of the city at Plaza Camarones (Shrimp Park), this open air arts and craft market is not only a great shopping experience for original, hand-made treasures, local cuisine, and performing artists, it is an absolutely joyous reason to socially meet up with friends and family during the best weather months of the year.

The Mermaid's Market is my FAVORITE thing to do in Puerto Penasco. Wandering the Shrimp Park with a Mermaid Margarita in hand while visiting the arts and crafts booths, and taking delight in many culinary opportunities is the BEST! I wrote a review in 2014 so I figured I should update my experience and support of this event. Russ and Naomi Beth Black had a vision and have brought that vision to reality. They also have the Seashell Museum (not to be missed) and the Off the Beach shop where you will find repurposed clothing, jewelry, art and more. Check out all THREE!

Mermaid's Market is one of my FAVORITE things to do in Rocky Point. October - April each year beginning the 3rd weekend in October and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays after that. Artists, music, food, beer, people watching, Mermaid Margaritas and Bloody Marias. The outdoor Market in the Shrimp Park in town is unique and always fun. The Season Finale the 3rd week of April is nothing less than SPECTACULAR.....Pirates and Mermaids. Lots of costumes and contests.

Russ and Naomi put on a great little market - if you are in town while it's happening, make sure to visit! Vendors have extremely unique hand crafted merchandise - seashell crafts, jewelry, artwork, local food and drinks, and information on tours & activities in Rocky Point. October weather was gorgeous and I had fun walking around to the different vendor booths and buying unique souvenirs.

If you happen to be in town on a weekend of the Mermaid Market, plan to attend. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine, pick up a freshly made Bloody Mary and walk around the park to enjoy and purchase items made by local artists and crafters. Lovely jewelry, clothing, knickknacks, delicious chocolates from “ chocolate lady” , and beautiful photography are just a few of the great items. Fun place to meet up with friends and catch up. Also, with so many locals there, you can always find out the happenings around town. We’ve always been able to pick up unique gifts for friends back home. Parking is easy and shopping is stress free. Its perfect!
