Only take this tour if you understand Italian. They deliver a notebook with a description of some points of visit in English, but it is not easy to follow the visit with this notebook alone. Long visit, more than 1 hour and a half.

Do not go there if you are not a native Italian speaker. You do get an English description but the information is different to what the guide explained

A mega experience, this underground city from Roman times. Great that so much has been preserved and can be shown even more completely with audio-visual techniques.

It's really not worth it.
No guidance in French, that's not too serious. Forget it, there's more to visit on the surface

An experience that I do not recommend.
There is very little to see underground.
The visit "holds up" only thanks to the skill of the guide (in our case, a Sicilian teacher) who, with his explanations, makes what little you see a little interesting (but not too much).
The underground cities that I have previously visited are very different and different.
It is much better to visit the historic center of Alba, which, however, is certainly worth it.
Pier Luigi Menga (Naples).

Despite saying in email and when arriving that we were English the tour was totally in Italian. V deceptive as there was an advert/flyer in English. Our guide could speak English but didn’t bother during the tour! We don’t expect the world to speak English but if we pay €15 each we do at least expect to be told it’s 100% in Italian. We were given a hand out in English but weren’t told which bits of the tour it related to so that was also pointless. Very thoughtless and really disappointing.

If you don't speak Italian, don't! You only see a number of foundations and a piece of old wall. The guide continues to chatter in Italian every 5 meters for 10 minutes. You will receive an English explanation on paper. However, that is a lot of reading! So very long-winded. And we were glad it was over.

Beautiful experience for adults and children, VERY interesting and well explained, we participated with a large group, all captured by Gianmarco's skill and competence (if we are not mistaken). We will return hoping to also see other sites on the map.

What a unique and special way to learn about a new city! Valentina was a lovely tour guide with deep knowledge of Alba and archeology. It was very interesting to see how much of Alba has been built on top of Roman architecture; much still intact. Although my friend and I don’t speak Italian, we were able to follow along for the most part and Valentina was kind enough to provide written descriptions in English. They were also very accommodating to allow us to join an Italian tour group on a day they don’t offer public tours. A must do!

Not a good activity for foreigners. The guide doesnt speak English and you do get a paper with some text in English but the information isnt the same to follow for 2 hours. So basically you look more to a wall then hearing some information.

How Can I go to Alba from Torino? Is it better by train or bus for a daytrip? How long does it take me to arrive there? What Can I see in one day in Alba?

Hello Dora,
thank you for your message!
As for your questions: it's possible to come to Alba from Torino, preferably by bus (there are no direct lines by train, so it's very uncomfortable). By bus, it takes around 1.5 hours to get to Alba. If you are planning to come for a day, our suggestion is to visit in the first half of the day the historical centre with the churches and the cathedral and enjoy a walk around the city where you can find many places for eating and shopping. For the second half of the day, you are welcome to visit the Civic Museum, located in via Vittorio Emanuele II 19, open
-from Tuesday to Friday 3 pm - 6 pm,
- Saturday 3 pm - 7 pm
- Sunday 10 am- 1 pm and 2 pm- 7 pm.
If you happen to visit Alba when we do the Underground Alba tour, it's an excellent opportunity to participate in a walking tour with a professional archeologist to discover the undergound roots of the city. For more information you can visit our website.
If you have other questions, let us know!
