Stunning park. Very clean and tidy. Amazing views, lots of benches placed nicely to relax and enjoy the scenery. Hill for panoramic photos and sunbathing (rare in DSt Helens), a very nice lake with swans, ducks, sometimes boats. Playgrounds for the kids, Cafe is nice, ice cream van is ever present.

This has to be one of the best parks in the UK but sadly quite a lot of rubbish debris on the edges of the lake which is where the turtles sunbathe

Whilst working away I wanted to go for an evening walk and picked well. Had a lovely stroll around the lake in the sun. Was well kept and looked after.

If you are a dog owner and dog lover or even don't believe that every dog is out to get you, DON'T COME HERE!!
I live nearby and had been visiting for over 20 years, taking my dogs for a walk but now it's become a nightmare with the precious dog haters in force, forever exerting their 'rights' that humans are better than animals - they are out there to make your life a misery, arguing at every opportunity. There's also present another breed of dog walkers who visit, they keep their dogs on a tight leash, not allowing their dogs to enjoy the walks and are totally ignorant to the fact that dogs are social animals and are probably promoting their dogs to be more aggressive by the fact that they are communicating there is danger around, by the tight leash and panic whenever another dog is around.
In addition to this, the cafe that is there is a small unexciting place and if you sit outside, be aware, there are a click of locals who think that you are invading their territory. This cafe really should have been housed in the almost derelict rangers building, where it could have been a lovely place to sit on the balcony overlooking the lake but probably the unimaginitive St Helens Council deemed it more important to house the Rangers, who have such a small Prescence there. Total waste.
I'm unsure what they actually do, the lake has lots of muck and rubbish collecting at the corners and if you can ever find one of the Rangers, Well Done!!
I now take my dogs to more civilised parks in the area.

To be honest this is biased, as I have loved it as a child for fishing, making friends and now fishing and dog walking. It s very well looked after by the council which is different to how they treat the local public.

Such a shame as its a beautiful park ! Great children's play ground , boating lake, beautiful surroundings and a cafe in the centre of the park . The problem the park is full of dog poo, with those black poo bags scattered all around. Really struggle to get my head round why dog owners use bags and then throw them into bushes ! If it wasn't for the dog poo situation I would have scored this park a 5 !

Taylor park is a great place to go, my daughter loves it, it really helps her cope with her autism, lots of quiet places if she gets overwhelmed, however we have been to the cafe twice as she has gotten hungry and wanted Nutella and toast and twice we were told the grills were switched off, the second time was at 1:40pm which in my eyes is a little early as they shut at 4pm.

Feed the ducks, geese, walk around a beautiful area, we're encouraged to meet in parks etc, take exercise in fresh air, I arranged to meet my friend, she travelled for an hour on the bus to meet me, it's a lovely park, cafe selling drinks & snacks, we needed the loo, no public toilet in a public area. Let's not blame Covid!! We had to cut our meet up short as we got taken short!
Surely if Liverpool can have their public toilets open then surely Taylor park can, I'd advise people to go elsewhere.

Only live just around the corner from this park so i know it well. Views from the top of the big hill are great. Its just a pity that the dont have rowing boats any more on the lake it use to be very good.Stiil its a place to visit.

Why is there such a problem with dog mess?

I have never seen dog mess in this park. However I do go early in the day and never at weekends. There are plenty of bins available. However, I am aware that later in the day there are some folk with several dogs running free.

Is it disabled friendly. My husband is wheelchair bound and I cannot push on poor surfaces or hills.

Wheelchair friendly on the path around the lake. The woodland paths vary with some easy and others more challenging. Most of the walkways are tarmac and where there are steps there are slopes near by.

I'm not sure. It's not open all day, only certain hours. I've only ever bought a tea/coffee there although there are tables inside and out.
