On a rainy day in Georgetown, this was the perfect activity to do with children. Our teens enjoyed designing their own glass bottles as did other, younger children there. To start with the design, have it fused onto the bottle and have a personalised souvenir was great in itself, but once finished, the upstairs was filled with fun illusions which were better than the trick art 3D museum down the road. Overall, this was an excellent experience and well worth a visit.

This glass museum is located along Burmah Road. It is a good experience to learn glass making and everything related to glass

The entrance fee was RM72 for 2 adults and 2 children. We were first led to the second floor to take photos with supposed “trick eye” pictures, but they were really second rate. We don’t even feel like keeping the pictures in our phones after taking them.
Then, we were led to the first floor and shown a quick 30-seconds demonstration of glass cutting. Very disappointing.
We were then told if we wanted to decorate our very own glass pieces. Our children doodled on precut pieces of glass using permanent markers. The adults removed pieces of stickers from precut pieces of glasses, so that the remaining parts not covered by sticker will be sand blasted. It took us less than 5 minutes.
We only found out that we had to pay RM20 for the 4 pieces of precut glass (3cm by 6cm). Not a lot of money but it was nothing meaningful.

It turned out to be a museum with 3D glass art and trick eye exhibits that you could take pictures of. They showed us the process of glass cutting and glass making, and we got to make a piece of our glass to bring home as souvenir (included in the price). I felt like they should have more exhibits as the museum part felt like a photo-taking tour in a glass gallery. Nevertheless, a great visit for Penang museums.

Good idea but not very well executed.
This is not a museum, it's a tour of glass products. They are trying to showcase the glass making process and sell glass commissions.
Everything felt rushed and I wanted to read the posters in my own time rather than with a guide; you did need the guide to help take photos at certain points.
Downstairs you have a guide to help you design your souvenir. Our guide (dragon bracelet guy) was super, he had a great sense of humour and was very helpful.
Personally I'd get rid of half the shop and have classes in there. Or a viewing gallery so you can watch and have a drink.

It is not worth the money! It is a bad 3D museum. We were expecting more information about glass. But there where only a few items. It is more about taking pictures. But the 3D effect is terrible! You start with making a glass souvenir. That’s included in the price, but if you want to make colours, magnet our hole in it you have to pay extra for it. Their main goal seems to be selling the glass items which was really disappointing.

Was surprised that the inside was entertaining like a 3D art museum, though from the entrance in it looked small. Spend about 45mjbs here

it was fantastic experience where my family work on coloring a piece of glass that we get it later free as souvenir. Moreover, there was a lot of artificial pieces to purchase for decoration or use in home. Rather than picking artificial pictures in sites equipped with fantasy glass works.

Hmm... Some beautiful glass arts n quite small. Maybe u need those "special cameras" to take the colored glasses!
The staff are OK n courteous. We even have hands on to make our own glass piece.
Can skip this place if u don't have the time.
