It was our first time in Costa Rica and first-time experience with Costa Adventures. We are most pleased with this company - the itinerary was designed based on our interests. Throughout the preparation phase, Costa Adventures' Pierre Gedeon was very responsive and accommodating. The proposed tours were exciting; we enjoyed them very much. The resorts were very excellent, could not ask for more. The guides were very good - knowledgeable, passionate and happy to share their knowledge with us. As far as logistics, such as transportation, is concerned, the drivers were always promptly on time and willing to assist should there be a need. That being said, we had a great experience and great trip, and we are comfortable recommending Costa Adventures.

Excellent trip in Costa Rica despite the rain in the mountains. Accommodations were excellent and organized travel between cities was the only way to go with all the two-lane roads (and trucks)!
Spectacular views of animals and vegetation made all the more real by expert guides and naturalists.
Highly recommend Costa Adventures, especially for first time travelers.

Costa Adventures put together a fabulous trip for our family on incredibly short notice: we stayed at the amazing eco-lodge Playa Cativo where we saw everything from dolphins (bottle-nosed and spotted Caribbean), sloths, spider monkeys, crocodiles, and so may beautiful birds. All our transfers from our international flight, to the domestic plane, to the boat transfer were seamless. Thank you!

My family and I had a wonderful trip to Costa Rica facilitated by Pierre at Costa Adventures. The country has sooo much to offer and seems a bit overlooked by US tourists compared to other Caribbean/Central American locations. From the amazing wildlife (we saw sloths, monkeys, toucans and macaws among many others) to the natural beauty of rain forest, waterfalls and beaches and the welcoming people, Costa Rica should be near the top of destinations!

We engaged Costa Adventures to help us plan and book our recent trip to Costa Rica. My wife and I had visited many years ago, and this was our first chance to go with our 10 yo. From the outset, Pierre and team were very good to work with. They actually listened to our interest and needs, and tailored an itinerary taking that into account. All too often agents have canned itineraries that they are pushing, and I was delighted that this wasn't the case.
We are seasoned global travellers and generally do our own bookings, but in this circumstance we decided to go with Costa Adventures given their recommendation from Conde Nast and to help us navigate a reasonably complex itinerary and a plethora of choices.
Overall they did a great job in balancing our expectations, budget, and intended experience to hand-craft a trip for us. I found their hotel assessments on-point, and if anything perhaps a bit understated. In particular, for our last segment we had wanted a property in the jungle for a true ecoexperience, and their selection was beyond expectation and our highlight of the trip.
During travels, they were available to sort through a minor issue that arose (not their fault) to a perfect outcome. All of the accommodations, tours, and transport were propertly booked with no issues, and their recommendations were on-point.
They were not the cheapest offeror out there, but ultimately I feel we got good value for our spend, and we had a no-drama, high-highlight vacation. No hesitation to recommend for those looking for an agent that has personally visited the properties, taken the tours, and knows the region exceptionally well. Strong recommend.

We were connected to Pierre and his team after inquiring about a custom itinerary with Zicasso, and I am so glad we were. My two best friends and I wanted to plan a week-long trip to celebrate our ten year best friendaversary. We anticipated planning everything out ourselves, but with our hectic schedules, having Pierre handle the majority of logistics was absolutely invaluable. He took our information and interests into account over a 1-on-1 introductory phone call. Then he created a personalized itinerary, checking all of the boxes we wanted to check. There were a couple tweaks we wanted to make to the schedule and activities, and he did so promptly. After the second iteration of the itinerary, it looked perfect. The only thing we had to do was pay the balance and book our plane tickets. It was so lovely that Pierre arranged the activities, private transportation (even accommodated us arriving to SJO airport at 3am and had someone waiting for us), a suggested packing list, FAQs, and was responsive to every single emailed question. The trip was fantastic, he clearly knows the area and knows which companies to book with. He added subtle personal touches along the way, like having a beautiful fruit plate sent to our hotel room. He responded quickly to a few questions we had during the trip asking for his recommendations in the area. Everything was great and I would highly recommend using Pierre and his team to curate a perfect trip in Costa Rica.

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:
Costa adventures and Pierre were very professional, reliable and honest. Our trip to Costa Rica (La Fortuna and Peninsula Papagayo) was a dream trip. We did a 2 week trip to celebrate 15 years of marriage and brought our 3 girls. Everyone had an incredible time. It was very expensive, but we were willing to spend given the anniversary - Pierre and his team took our guidance and crafted a trip that was pretty much exactly what we had dreamed. We had bilingual guides and transportation everywhere and they were awesome. The activities were all extremely fun. The only negative I would say is that we booked a few too many things, I would suggest leaving more open days. The Springs was such a great resort that we cancelled one trip and had to eat the cost b/c the kids just wanted a day to explore the incredible resort. Pierre and his team gave us little thoughtful surprises along the way - I would use them again!
What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?
The Farm to table cooking experience was so much fun! Horseback riding and white water tubing at the Springs was great. The kids loved ziplining of course. Safari animal float trip also a favorite, as was the volcano hike. Costa Rica is an amazing country with wonderful people, great food and amazing eco tourism. The whole trip was great. Nene's in La Fortuna was a favorite restaurant.
If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?
We would've booked fewer activities up front so we could play it by ear and enjoy the resorts - we booked a few too many and dialed back a couple.

This was our 13th or 14th trip to CR. I usually do the trip planning. And all of our trips have been great. However, this trip was a last minute trip for some dental work (Dr. Garita is awesome). I had been super busy at work and didn't have time to do the planning. After researching reviews, I found Pierre. I reached out to him a week or two before the trip. Even though we had been to CR multiple times, he planned the most fabulous trip! It was full of unique, authentic experiences. The properties were outstanding. The drivers and guides were the best. All the transfers were seamless. He provided me with an easy to read itinerary. If we wanted any last minute changes, Pierre was very quick to respond and accommodate. I didn't realize how much stress it was for me (my family's travel planner) during the previous vacations. This trip, I was able to TOTALLY relax and not worry about a thing! I don't think I will ever plan another vacation to CR myself- I'm going to let Pierre do it! Can't wait for our next Costa Adventure with Pierre!

Yes this was a super last minute trip, this got booked... just 2 days before you arrived, and we had to organize all the logistics, hotels, activities etc., in no time.
We had a lot of fun receiving the pictures you took during your trip, from activities, transfers etc., the pictures talked for themselves about how much you were enjoying the trip!

I absolutely loved our visit to Costa Rica and Pierre and his team made sure we had everything we needed in order to have a wonderful time. I traveled with my three daugthers (ages 8, 11, and 13). Everyone wanted to see wildlife, but I knew that my thrill-seeking 13 year-old would be interested in very different activities than my more timid 8-year old. The activities Pierre suggested were spot on.
We started in La Fortuna at a beutiful hotel with hot springs. We visited the hanging bridges; had a private chocolate, sugar cane, and coffee tour; went on a jungle float; did a night tour; and had a private farm-to-table cooking class. We then traveled to Manuel Antonio and again stayed at an incredible resort and went on a paddle-boat tour of the mangroves and a catamaran adventure.
Our days were filled, but not too busy - the perfect amount of scheduled and unscheduled time. The attention to detail - especially in the drivers who brought us to/from airports/hotels and the welcome gifts at the hotels- was excellent. Pierre and his team made sure I was happy with the itinerary, both when the deposits were due and before we left the US, but then they also checked in on us during the trip via email twice, and made sure those same drivers reported back on how we were doing. I highly recommend Costa Rica and Costa Adventures!
