Went to this nice place by chance. All the honey was delicious. The owner was very friendly and gave us a lot of history on the company and the honey.

My daughter and I have a deep love for honey. We were so excited to find this gem. This is a must stop even if u only have five minutes to grab a fresh jar of honey.

Local honey, beautiful store. Like stepping back in time.
In an older general store. Very local honey with tastings. I bought
Orange blossom, mangrove honey, they also had sea grapes honey.
Had nice salad dressings and candies. Great stop, got history lesson from owner all delivered with a
Warm smile.

Since ancient times the world has known the healing and health benefits of honey. It contains nutrients and antioxidants. It can help lower your blood pressure and triglycerides and improve your cholesterol. It promotes burn and wound healing and suppresses coughs. it's been touted to prevent cancer and heart disease, reduce ulcers, ease digestive problems, regulate blood sugar, and increase athletic performance. Basically it's a wonder drug but you can't use the processed stuff, you need it in the raw like they sell here.
Whenever I find a farmers market I am on the lookout for local honey. That is why I was so happy to find the Harold P. Curtis Honey Co. The Harold P. Curtis Honey Co. store has been a landmark near the Caloosahatchee River on N Bridge Street since 1954. You get the honey directly from the Curtis family hives which can be found in the orange groves, pines, mangroves and along the beaches of South Central Florida. Farmers depend on the bees to pollinate their crops and the bees make the Curtis honey. Curtis Honey Co. is located in a historic building from 1927 that used to be the towns mercantile. The store is managed by the daughter of Harold P. Curtis, Rene Curtis Pratt who I had the pleasure of chatting with.
Honey varieties include sea grape, mangrove, wildflower, palmetto, and orange blossom. In addition to the honey offered in many different sizes they also sell gator sauce and other spicy seasonings, honey candy, tea, jellies, honey candy, candles, and honey beauty products like soap, lotion, and lip balm. I purchased the amazing orange blossom honey soap for myself and gifts. The honey drop candy cured a minor throat irritation I have had for a month. I ended up purchasing a few gifts for upcoming birthdays which I know will be enjoyed.
With the current focus on supporting local agriculture and eating healthy now is the time to rediscover what our ancestors knew, honey is good for you. Stop by the Harold P. Curtis Honey Co. to find out all the ways you can enjoy this sweet nectar. You will "bee" glad you did.

I absolutely love this place, I've been a few times over the years and I'm never disappointed. The taste compared to store bought, there no describing how amazing it is. Ill go without until I xan come buy more. Very reasonably priced. I have coworkers that love it so much they ask me to get them more when I'm in town.

Who knew? For decades I got my honey from a grocery store. Now I get it from this family run, craft honey producer. What a difference in flavour. They have all kinds, sample a few and then go home with your favourite.

We stopped into the store 3 times. The first time a wonderful and welcoming woman assisted the customers already in the store and acknowledged us when we walked in. She was helpful and pleasant to everyone.
The 2nd and 3rd time we stopped in there was an older gentleman sitting behind the cash register; he didnt acknowledge anyone and had a "chip on his shoulder" to anyone who asked for assistance or a question. His attitude was that of why are you here wasting his time.
On our 2nd visit, we noticed this and wrote it off as "just a grumpy man". On the 3rd visit, he happened to be there again and had the same grumpy unhelpful attitude and demeanor. When asked a question he snapped at my adult daughter something to the effect that if she would have paid attention in school she would know what bees do. Yeah... we didn't end of buying any honey this visit.
The product they offer is great and we strongly believe in supporting local businesses but the experience in the store is also just as important to a customer as is the product. Terrible customer service can destroy a great product.
Unfortunately, we have not been back to the store due to the poor customer service experienced.
