I just called (May 2023) to schedule a trip and their voicemail says due to COVID they are no longer doing tours. Figured I’d give others a heads up.

We took a 3 hour tour on Sep 17 2019 with Captain Tom and Helaine. The weather was good with bright sunshine. The scenery was great and we took over 200 pictures in a short amount of time. The highlight was seeing some many seals (no shark sighting) and pulling up a lobster trap. We could have taken a few lobster back with us since they were good size but we decided not too since we had no place to cook them. Tom and Helaine were great tour guides and we talked throughout the trip like we were old friends even though this was our first meeting. Great couple and full of stories. They will adjust your trip on demand as you go. We just stayed with the 3 hour tour but loved every minute. Highly recommend it

Chatham has wonderfully scenic waterfront with many harbors, inlets, rivers, the ocean and the sound. Helaine and Captain Tom know them all intimately, and go all in to share the very best of it with you. They will adjust the trip to your particular interests, and then choose the very best time and tide to obtain the best trip for you. They are lovely people, knowledgeable and great conversationalists. You will always remember this trip!

We recently went on a boat tour with Tom and Helaine and had the best day. Both were very interesting/informative tour guides and let our two children (ages 8 and 4) feel like they were part of the crew. We went to check the lobster traps and were able to keep six lobsters and band them. We also went and saw tons of seals by Chatham Bars. It really was a great and exciting day and my two kids are still talking about it. We would recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Our family of six (including grandparents, teenager and six year-old) had a wonderful boat cruise with Tom and Helaine this week. They took us all round Chatham and we stopped close to several pods of seals and then rounded up the trip by pulling up a lobster pot which had four lobsters in (which proved delicious that evening!). Everyone in the family enjoyed the trip - it was relaxed, informative and fun. Tom and Helaine were excellent hosts, full of information but the trip didn’t feel touristy, it was personalised for what we wanted to do. Thoroughly recommended!

We did a boat tour with our 1 year old and it couldn't have been any better! Things I learned - boating is very dependent on weather and the owners kept in touch as to the best day and time. They were flexible with our time...we weren't sure with the baby if we would be out 1 or 5 hours :-) as we wanted to enjoy our experience. We went step by step and could've stayed looking for clams all day! How fun! We checked lobster pots and saw lots of spider crabs! We collected lobster and mussels and stopped to see the seals. They drove us by an oyster farm and showed us a fantastic time from start to finish. Some fishing rules apply for adults....but for the baby she could clam on her own and LOVED it! A truly unforgettable experience! BOOK IT! You'll be glad you did!

My family has been going to chatham since I was a baby, yet we never thought of booking a private boat tour. This boat tour is a true hidden gem of Chatham. Helaine and Tom do a great job of setting up the tour and explaining everything. They bring out maps and tell you some history of Chatham and the waters. They also let you customize the activities you and your family want to do and will move you from place to place as you want. They get you right up to the seals and the sandbars. The tour is reasonably priced and was a true highlight of the trip

The Chatham Boat Tour with Capt. Tom and Helaine was absolutely fantastic! It was the highlight of our trip. Our family of 4 including our children aged 14 and 11 enjoyed a late morning high tide 3 hour cruise. We caught 4 lobsters from their lobster pots, got a tour of Chatham coast and swam at a sandbar for almost an hour. Both Tom and Helaine were great tour guides. They shared a vast knowledge of local history, culture and wildlife. We highly recommend this trip!!

Highlight of our vacation: boated to a pod of seals and hung out as they swam around our boat, pulled lobster traps and scored a few lobsters for our dinner and then spent time raking for steamers and quahogs with the backdrop of Stage Harbor Lighthouse. Beautiful afternoon. Capt Tom and his wife were fabulously informative and enjoyable. Highly recommend!! We will do this again next year!
You can do just a 2 hour trip but the extra hour is well with the money!!

Do you offer a tour for a family of 15 (or less) that would involve catching lobsters and maybe cooking and eating them on board? It would be a tour to celebrate my Dad’s 75th birthday. Thank You!

We have private custom boat tours of 6 people or less. Your birthday celebration sounds like fun.

Sorry we could not schedule a cruise for you for the next day.
The more notice we have, the better the availability.
Occasionally we do have last minute availability, so thanks for asking.
Since I only have 1 boat, am the only Captain, have A LOT OF AWESOME REPEAT CUSTOMERS,
and only go out in good weather;
my schedule often fills up from requests made well in advance.

that your tour comes up when "photography tours" is the search topic. We would be interested in that. What's entailed and what is the cost?

AI K,
Both professional and amateur photographers have toured with us, taking awesome photos of the scenery, wildlife, sandbars, barrier beaches, the National Seashore, Stage Harbor, the National Wildlife Refuge, Lighthouses, Monomoy Islands, and their friends and family.
Since our tours are private and custom, we have the luxury of getting you to places BOTH PLANNED AND UNPLANNED FOR PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES.
We can stop and stay as long as you want at each spot. You move around the boat getting different perspectives from the front or rear of the boat, the 180 view from the hatch, or from the beach or water if you choose to disembark in the shallow water. People with Go Pro and underwater cameras have also loved touring with us.
The cost is also on website rates page. It is $125 per Hour for 1st 2 Hours ($125 x 2 hr=$250) (For the entire boat, NOT PER PERSON)
- $100 per Hour for additional Hours after 1st 2 Hours. (2 Hour minimum.)
I would love to talk to you and/or send you more info if you would like. If so, please contact me from my website contact page.

Hi, Doug & Helaine~My husband and I will be in the Cape Cod area for two weeks from May 19th until June 2nd. Your boat tour sounds awesome. My husband tends to get motion sick when we've done whale watching in California and Hawaii. Is the water rough on the tour? Amazingly he did not get sick when we took a hot air balloon ride over Napa Valley. We always take motion sickness medicine so I think he'll be fine on your Tour but I needed to double check with you. We boat at the area lakes in Arkansas and he doesn't have a problem then. We love to catch a lobster but definitely would not want to keep it. Any other tips you can offer about your tour are appreciated.

Linda,
As Traveler7 kindly answered;
we tour in gorgeous CALM WATERS in Nantucket Sound and Stage Harbor, Chatham.
We ONLY CRUISE IN GOOD WEATHER. If it was windy and not calm, we would not cruise that day.
Regarding “OTHER TIPS”- we have lots more info I can email you or talk to you about. I would be happy to do that if you contact us from our website requesting that. Since our tours are CUSTOM TOURS, depending on your interests, we would love to DISCUSS TIPS THAT MATCH YOUR INTERESTS to plan a custom cruise.
