Our volunteer guide Dennis was excellent. He devoted lots of time for just the two of us. The displays pertaining to the home front in ww2 were the highlight of the visit for me.

5/5 knowledgeable volunteers. Cool planes from Blue angels and helicopter from Vietnam and lots of memories of WWII. Surprised more people don't stop after Greenfield Village. Site of Ford run B-24 bomber plant from WWII.

Amazing people work at this location. They were very friendly and hospitable. Made this mini museum trip enjoyable. Good for families with smaller children.

This is a small museum packed full of interesting memorabilia and airplanes. We chatted for quite awhile with two of the docents who were very knowledgeable and told great stories! It was an impromptu stop on our way home from Dearborn. Impressive Rosie the Riveter displays!

Nice enough museum.
But we had a Huey flight that was cancelled because of weather.
We received an email about the rescheduling. Upon arrival there was no one there and when they showed up we were informed the aircraft was torn apart for maintenance!
They did not bother to email not text any of us so we wasted a whole morning.
Not at all impressed!

Been in the area many times... seen a flyer on it, so I had to go to see it! Not large but real nice displays, few planes and fuselage cutouts and engines. Very knowledgeable staff as well, probably retired air force I would bet. They do have some vintage flying aircraft you can hitch a ride in, but its costly, but would be a experience!

We rode in the B-25 which is on the other side of the airport. If you get lost, call and they'll get you to the right place. Show up early to see other planes take off and land and enjoy the hanger with the other planes. This flight was a retirement gift and I took my dad with me. When you arrive, they check you in and go over the pre-flight checklist on what you'll be doing and allowed to do. We sat in the back for takeoff and during the flight we climbed up, over and down the the front of the plane. When its your turn to go to the nose, you'll need to crawl to the front. Take plenty of pictures of the trip. The crew was very helpful before, during and after the flight. Look at some YouTube videos of this B-25 to get an good idea of the experience. This is a must for any WW2 plane enthusiast. Afterwards we went to the Museum and would recommend it.

This was an extremely interesting museum. I t concentrated on the lives of those who built, delivered & flew the aircraft in WW2. Plus the story of how Henry Ford was able to make a Liberator B24 bomber every 55 minutes. Friendly, knowledgable mature staff. So pleased I found it!

Too bad they let so many people in the museum that we could not move!!
Stayed for 5 minutes, sad!
The candy drop was a disaster for our family, got knocked over with a three year old. Got zero candy and we were at the rope waiting for twenty minutes!!!
Sad sad sad!
Shame on the parents of older kids, this was supposed to be fun!

The B-17 Yankee Lady ride is a treat. There are not very many experiences as hands on and interesting. The plane took about 9 years to restore to historically correct levels. According to the Crew Chief, there are only about 8 or 9 of these flying. You board the plane and strap in for about 25 minutes. You are allowed to walk around- through the bomb bay and essentially crawl into the nose section. Though I am not nimble like a 19-25 year old who flew these in daylight bombing missions over Germany, I made it work. Not really for the faint of heart, this plane is smooth on take off and the landing was better than most commercial flights. The in-flight experience really puts it all in perspective. You can understand the sacrifices made by the young heros who flew these. Amazing. The best..... The flight leaves from 801 Kirk Profit Dr, Ypsilanti, MI 48198. GPS will take you right there. Make reservations and go.
