I had tickets for a concert. I love smaller venues because they are more personal. Sometimes the tickets are cheaper. Downside you are standing...but just jam out and wear comfy shoes.

Standing room only for about 200, but there are a few long benches against wall for those who have disabilities. Friendly staff, good acoustics and greet sight lines for the bands. We have been here multiple times and never been disappointed. Coat check only in the most severe of weather, and it will get hot in there, so suck it up and wear a sweatshirt over t shirt or tank in colder weather that can be wrapped around your waist later.

Went with my cousin to a Mod Sun concert it was great. Every staff I interacted with was awesome from the door staff and security out front who were super efficient at explaining what was needed such as showing ID and taking things out of our pockets for a pat down to the bar tenders and ticket collectors. Was able to buy a tall Labatts for $8. The venue its self was clean and the sound was great. This is an awesome intimate place to see a show.

The drinks were strong. The staff was polite and attentive. It wasn’t too crowded. We will definitely be back.

I made a trip from Denver to Detroit specifically to see my favorite band (Big Wreck) play. They happened to be playing at The Shelter, which I learned was a very small venue, underneath an old church. And it was apparently where the rap battle in the movie "8 Mile" with Eminem took place. And several other well-known bands have played there. So, I wasn't really sure what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's basically a big, dark basement (or bomb "shelter") with a bar in the middle. It was a very intimate venue with great sound - a great way to see a band up close. The only negative thing about it is that there is a huge bar right in the middle of the floor, taking of valuable standing room. It would be much better to have placed the bar against the wall, or have a couple of smaller bars in different areas. But if you want to get up close and personal with a band and happen to be in Detroit, check it out!

Depends on the artist and how the show is billed. I have seen all ages shows and 18+ only shows there
