My wife and I attended a performance and was subject to sound that blasted repeatedly at a volume exceeding 106 decibels. Contacted the theatre and was told that the theatre had no control over performance company and was not responsible. Totally spoiled our evening, a waste of $400.

This is a nice theater in Detroit.
A few of the pros:
- free parking the day we went
-lots of ushers and staff to help
-cushioned and spacious seats
-Decorated well for the holidays
A few of area of improvement:
- bathrooms and concessions should be available at all levels of the theater. It
Was only offered at two levels.
-the concession selection, specifically food could be revamped
-the “order drinks to your seat” app was not working

Wow. We had never been here but heard about it for years. We saw the Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar and the whole experience was phenomenal! The staff, the concessions, the whole building - all top notch. Parking was super close too. Felt safe the entire time, in the heart of the city. Would definitely visit again.

From the time I arrived until the time I left, my entire visit was frustrating. I got to the theater and I was surprised to see that there was not any valet parking. On the website it stated that there would be valet parking. As a disabled guest, I had hoped to simply turn my car over to a valet and save myself from walking. I ended up having to park in the parking structure, fortunately in a handicapped space, but it was still quite a walk to the entrance of the theater.
This theater has not been updated very well to accommodate handicapped guests. When I bought my tickets, I bought my ticket for the mezzanine level on the right because I was told on the phone that that would be a convenient spot since the elevator drops people off to the right side of the mezzanine level. I chose a seat on the aisle at the very front, so I was in seat AA 64. It had a good view, but it was very uncomfortable. The cushion was lumpy and it didn’t go all the way to the back of the chair so my tailbone was resting on the hard surface of the seat. When I first arrived, there were long lines for the bathrooms, so I decided to wait until intermission to use the restroom. Unfortunately, by the time I walked from my seat to the restroom, there was again a very long line. I waited in that line, and by the time I got into the restroom, the chimes were playing letting people know they needed to get back to their seats. My entire break was spent waiting in line.
Once I got into the restroom itself, I realized that there were no handicapped stalls. There were approximately five very small, regular bathroom stalls. Since there was no way to get back to my seat without waiting until the ushers would let me back in, and after being very frustrated with not having a handicapped accessible bathroom, I left. I had paid $115 for my ticket, but my uncomfortable seat, the lack of a handicapped accessible restroom and frustration with the poor sense of organization led me to not enjoy my evening. The intermission break should be longer to accommodate the fact that so many people were still in line for the bathrooms. When I left, there were still at least 15 women in line.
They also need to have more people available to assist guests who need help. Before getting in the restroom line, I had looked for an usher to ask if there were handicapped accessible bathrooms. At that time, I did not see any ushers. Before even going to the theater, I had read through the information on the website for the Fisher Theatre, but I didn’t see anything about handicapped accessible restrooms. After getting home, I did revisit their website and after a bit of digging I found that there is apparently a handicapped accessible restroom in the foyer, but I did not know that at the time. It would’ve been nice if I had been aware of it when I bought my ticket and I would’ve chosen a ticket on the main floor. I thought that all buildings had to be updated with handicapped restrooms and it doesn’t make sense to have no handicapped restrooms on the mezzanine floor. No one should have to go to a different level of the building just to use the bathroom. When I called on the phone before my visit, I was debating getting one of the wheelchair accessible seats because I generally do use a wheelchair, but I saw that they only had two seats available for wheelchair users and since I can walk with a cane, I didn’t want to tie up one of the wheelchair seats, so I left it so that if someone needed it more than me, they would have it. There should be more wheelchair accessible seats in a theater of this size.

Traveled here to attend a broadway play “Beautiful “.
The theater is wonderful, clean, great sound, and comfortable.
Very well operated, Covid precautions were enforced.
Would return again, a great In a great old theater that still has its architecture preservered.

Terrible experience. I paid over $100 per ticket (took my 4 children) and we were 4 rows from the last row in the top balcony, and the theatre was half empty! I got completely taken paying this much money for such awful seats.
Also, the production was SO bad.
Very disappointing experience overall.

Excellent Detroit theater. Absolutely love the mezzanine level seats. Any seat on that level provide a wonderful view of the performance. Adjacent parking is very convenient.

My daughter and I had season tickets last year. This year we are seeing 2 shows. Last night, Come From Away was both tear jerking and hilarious! It had just the right amount of respect and hilarity that comes from their experience with the 9/11 tragedy. I always enjoy visiting this theatre venue. The ushers are always helpful and friendly. Our seats were on the main floor but in a place where we there was a slight rise in the floor so we could see without obstruction from the people in front of us. That is not always the case if you are a bit closer to the stage. Sound was excellent. Everyone was on their feet and clapping to the music at the end!

There are, in the Fisher Building as well as the Theatre itself. Just ask an attendant for assistance.

Where is the best place to drop off a handicapped individual for the fisher theater?
Escrita el 19 de marzo de 2019
I am not 100% sure on this. But the main entrance. But going into the parking structure you could drop them off the doors to enter theatre are right there. Sorry I just don’t know the theatre that well.

I think it's 2 hours and 45 mins with either a 15 or 20 mins intermission

I wouldn’t wear jeans but a nice pair of dress pants or a dress would be fine. You will see just about everything but the venue is very beautiful so wearing something nice would be most appropriate.

Surrounding area is clean and at least my family feels very safe here. Parking building right next to Theatre. If you have booked at Fisher for an event parking is often without fee!

Going to be sing Love Never Dies on a Thursday night at 8 p.m. What would be the general attire to be wearing?
Escrita el 16 de octubre de 2017
Really, anything goes, from very casual to more dressy attire. The days when people really dressed up are long gone. Casual is the name of the game.
