A great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Reminded me of some pond areas in Northern California. This was the best time to go right before it starts heating up, late April early May. My wife and I went for a brisk walk around the area which is well paved and a number of ways to map your hike. A few undulating pathway roads with plenty of waterfowl, bird watching, and a peacock with an alarming cry. It costs $6 to park as there are a number of historical buildings with site markers that explain them. There are a couple different parking areas so ask the attendant which way to go if you’re looking for a closer area to the lake or buildings. We got in free on Sunday before 2pm since there was a Farmers Market on that day. You can also reserve specific areas for BBQ’s, picnics, and there were a lot of people fishing in the lake as well. I heard it was well stocked. A nice place to visit. Check it out. Highly recommended!

Tucked away up in the Northwest Floyd Lamb Park is spread across over 2000 acres featuring Ponds, Horse Trails, Picnic Areas and a Petting Zoo. Visited for a gender reveal inside one of the covered areas this is the sort of place few think of when discussing "Sin City." Blue Herons, Ducks, Peacocks and even Fishing - a true "breath of fresh air" in Las Vegas.

Spent a couple hours at this park on our recent trip to Las Vegas. We wanted to get away from the city to relax and enjoy outdoors. Several lakes with paved walking trails. Lots of birds to enjoy. We even saw a peacock. So many Canadian geese. Not at all crowded. Lots of people walking dogs. Lots of picnic areas. Parking was easy. $6 admission fee. Nice change of pace

I love this park-----right in the city of Vegas is this oasis of 4 small lakes---regular trees all over ( not just palm trees )-----tons of birds--and birds we've never seen in the midwest-----right next to Tullie Springs--old Divorce Ranch with wild peacocks walking around--very interesting

I went here as a child in the 60's and 70's, Not much has changed. It is a beautiful park with the geese, ducks and peacocks running wild. Their ponds are spacious for the animals. Oh ya, they allow fishing! Plenty of paces to picnic. Large grass area to play any sports or games with the kids or you adults

I’m upset I didn’t know about this park sooner. It’s beautiful here. It has the historical part with old building near the front with geese and peacocks. As you go down further, there are four lakes with ducks. This is the best park in Las Vegas. You can fish, take a lovely stroll, or have a picnic here.

Strolled along some scenic paths. Got to see rabbits and birds. There are quite a few places to take a break along the way. Checked out the animals at the ranch. The peacocks there roam freely. The sound they make is akin to a baby being water boarded. Come hear for yourself and have your dreams haunted for the rest of your life! It’s a nice oasis away from The Strip.

A member of my party suggested Floyd Lamb State Park to take in Tule Springs Ranch. From the entranced drove to and found the first parking adjacent to the ranch buildings where we set off on the walking paths, checking out the various builds associated with the working ranch in its hay day, turned private guest ranch in the 1930's.
What lay beyond the ranch was a welcoming sight, little by little the oasis that came into view as a canopy of trees shading us, we looked out over a small lake in an abundance of water fowl. The walk continued as lake after adjoining lakes were visited.
What I came away with:: parking first at the ranch not knowing the lakes, trees & waterfowl were beyond our view, thus allowing us to stumble into the oasis slowly. I would return next time with lunch in hand and take in the tranquility of the area....

This is a nice spot to take small children with the animals that roam the grounds. You could adopt a bunny rabbit the Sunday we were here. Bring a basket lunch as many people did on this Sunday. Short walking self guided walking tour is nice also. The web stated that free to enter but at the gate you will see they charge a fee. Eight people in the van $8.00.

I'm afraid I don't know. We just walked around. No fishing.

No. Did not see any. It's more of a visual and nature experience. Kids may like to see all the waterfowl, peacocks and other birds but beware of some of the male geese. They are protective of their haram and will nip anyone who messes, or they think will mess, with them.

I've never seen anyone doing it. You may want to contact the park to make sure it's ok. 702-229-6297

I am visiting Vegas in July. Can I get to the park via public transport? Thank you
Escrita el 23 de mayo de 2016
I'm sorry, but I checked, and there doesn't seem to be be public busses that run out there. You could rent an Uber vehicle to take you - a friendly local would love to show you around. I can't insert a web address, but if you Google
Las Vegas Online Visitors Guide, Floyd Lam State Park, there a bit of good information.
It is very lovely. You should also plan to go out to Red Rock or Calico Basin (they are near each other).

There's also a very nice 4 mile walking trail area to the east of Floyd Lamb. It is easily accessible, just park beside the road, and there is no fee. People ride horses, walk their dogs, and I run there.

Is there any animal roaming around around this time of the year?
Escrita el 9 de enero de 2016
I think you have to go there to purchase a yearly pass. I believe it's $45
