We were killing time in Columbiana and stopped in for a few minutes and stayed an hour. There is a collection of donated antiques from days gone by, something for everyone. The information and photos from the time of Firestone were most interesting. The docents were knowledgeable and friendly.

This is not a replica. It's a beautiful time in History kept alive in the center of Columbiana. There are always people from the historical society there to fill you in on their town and the people that lived there. It's all original and there's an upstairs bedroom to check out, you can show your kids why they should be more grateful for what they have, lol!! They also have relics from dinosaurs in this area, really cool visit. Check the Hours & Days!

- This local history museum, housed in an original log house on the site of an 1807 post office, has collections of Civil War and World War I artifacts, dolls, coverlets, quilts, newspapers, a dinosaur bones display, antique furniture and more.
The Log Cabin is open Saturdays and Sundays 2-4pm Memorial Day thru September.
The Research Center is open on Tuesday mornings from 9am-Noon.

If you happen to be in Columbiana, take a visit to this great piece of history. A couple of us decided to take a walk through the Log House, which is really two old buildings together, and were surprised at how much they packed into them. They had people from the historical society there to fill you in on their town and the people that lived there.

Items included in here are: A church display with pews and an old organ; dinosaur bones found locally; an old chair that a doctor used to do tonsillectomies and a picture of the doctor that owned the chair; items from pharmacies and groceries; old clothing including some from the Civil War era; kitchen area; bedrooms in the loft and many other things to look at.

We were able to go upstairs in the loft to look at the bedrooms where 9 children slept and the basement had more displays so there are stairs to climb. You could spend a half hour there or more depending on how much you'd like to learn from the local historians. We really enjoyed our visit. It was nice to see a small town that has preserved so much of their history.
