This is an attractive, classic church a short distance from Northallerton high street.
The building and exterior are very well kept and feature a handsome war memorial.

This is an attractive church in the centre of Northallerton.
It is free to enter and surrounded by a lovely green area.
Particularly lovely in a blue sky day.

Fascinating church in the middle of Northallerton. Spectacular stained glasses windows - so much history in this small church

We walked past on the May bank holiday weekend, the exterior is well maintained & surrounded by some beautiful well established trees affording great respite from the heat, or for those with little ones to have a picnic, unfortunately it wasn’t open so didn’t get to look around, but if the inside is anything like the outside I’m sure it’ll be worth a visit!

My friend and our two babies met in Northallerton for a catch up and a look around the town. We had heard the church was lovely so popped in. There had been a soup lunch and the people invited us to join, offering us soup, bread, a hot drink and biscuits. They were sooo welcoming and didn't rush us out when my friends baby needed a mega long feed! It was such a lovely thing to do, particularly as the weather was horrendous outside
A church should be a sanctuary to all and this one definitely is.

My friend and our babies popped in for a quick look around the church architecture and were immediately welcomed to sit down and enjoy free homemade soup and bread (served each Monday). The ladies within the church kitchen made us feel so at home and chatted to us whilst offering tea and biscuits. There were baby changing facilities and the interior of the church is well worth a look.

On a very wet day in Northallerton the church beckoned us and we were glad we did go in. There is a considerable amount of history (from 1150 onwards) to see and it is worth following the guide to see the main features. The ‘mouseman’ Robert Thompson was responsible for part of the 19th century refurbishment and he left 21 of his famous mice carved into various wooden items throughout the church. It will keep children as well as adults busy trying to spot them all!

...mediaeval church with extensive 19th cent additions and alterations. It's big as befits a county town.
Amazing radiators of c1880!

This church under the vicarage of Fiona is not what I expected of the church but she is wonderful, friendly and up to date.

All Saints Church is at the far end of the High Street and is well worth a visit. Like most churches, the building and contents span several centuries, so there is much to discover and admire. I won’t go into too much detail, but the highlights for me were:
The stone font is 17th century.
The wooden war memorial situated on the wall behind the font is by Thompson of Kilburn, and features the trademark mouse. And if you like finding Thompson “mice”, there is another on the altar rails.
The aisle pillars are 12th century and the tower above the crossing is dated from 1420, the earlier one having been destroyed in 1318 when Northallerton was sacked by the Scots.
There are two chapels, and the Northern Saints Chapel contains an unusual vesica window (shaped like an oval with pointed ends top and bottom) as well as two wall mounted sections of an old 15th century screen. The Lady Chapel at the south end is more attractive and includes a fine copy of a Leal painting, as well as three early 13th century lancet windows.
And before you leave, spare a glance at the wooden ceilings which, in my view, are simply lovely.
The church provides a very good pamphlet with explanatory notes re the above and much more. There is no mention of the exterior however, and I was curious re the deep gouges in the porch stonework. They look very much like the grooves one often finds on church walls that were caused by archers sharpening their arrows on the church walls after service, and before archery practice, but someone might have an alternative explanation.
