We originally came here just to tour the Tall Ship ELISSA, but then decided last minute to add on the harbor and dolphin tour. Best decision we made!! The Historic Harbor tour was our favorite part! You sail out on the double decker Seagull II and get lots of history of the active harbor area. You also see tons of dolphins, the same ones seen by the other strictly "dolphin tour"groups, and venture out shortly into the gulf area to see a sunken ship site. So much fun and the guides on our boat where funny and very informative. Once you dock you can go onboard the ELISSA and also tour the small museum on site. This is all included for $18 per person. Best price around for seeing dolphins.

I thoroughly enjoyed my harbor tour on the Seagull II. The Caspar in and the tour guide were very knowledgeable about the harbor and shared lots of information about dolphins, Galveston, the history of the harbor, and all of the floating vessels we encountered.
Great tour.

Interesting to see. You walk up a ramp to buy tickets in a small gift shop. There is a deck area outside the shop where you can watch the workings of the boat without having to pay to get on. Never bought a ticket but felt I had the whole experience. Saw families go in the gift shop, buy ice cream and look at the boat from the deck.

The tour is very well done and supports the historic society that works in Galveston. Tour guide was exceptional in the presentation and interaction with us.

This turned out to be much more interesting than we had expected. Touring the Elissa was included when we purchased tickets for the harbour/dolphin tour so we spent half an hour aboard while waiting for the tour to depart. It was time well spent and give a good idea of what a sailor’s life was like way back when.

Great old ship and history museum. Way overpriced $16 each for a ship that the information boards are so faded you can barely read them. Their QR code tour did not work. The museum was nice and they have put a lot of time and money into this part. Again, the QR code tourn did not work. Would be a great tour for $6 a person. $16 is way too much for this.

Fabulous and meticulously refurbished 1877 tall ship brought to the harbor from Greece. Very interesting displays, woodwork and plaques explaining its place in history. Most areas are accessible and if not they can be easily visualized. The rigging is AMAZING and fully functional as she does go out to sea once a year. Don’t miss the museum right beside the gift shop, it is beyond compare!

A lovely harbour in Galveston Island - visit the tall ship or walk around the harbour itself. Has a couple of bars & eating places - great views & easy to access vis the trolley. Great picture opportunities.

09/01/2023 The tall ship is small and made for short sailors (as most older ships are), but this was neat to see. The only guide that we had were the signs that were hung up, so we didn’t really learn much about it on our walkthrough. Neat gift shop and museum.

My husband and I took the Historic Harbor Tour at the Galveston Historic Seaport (not to be confused with Baywatch Dolphin Tour, which is another company) in late August. Our captain and mate were Brian and Nolan. They were wonderful. Brian gave us lots of good and interesting information and he tailored our tour a bit to linger in the area where dolphins were playing. Thanks gentlemen, for a good experience. Also at the GH Seaport is the tall ship Elissa. It is very interesting--well worth a half hour or more touring both decks.

Probably not a main feature of this site, nonetheless worth a few minutes of time is the museum store/gift shop. I'm not a big shopper, so normally, we don't linger in gift shops. But this one had a large selection of books at all levels about ships, shipbuilding, the history of Galveston--and delightful kids' books about pirates. We bought several for us and for the grandkids.

A special commendation goes to the woman who runs the store and answers the phone for all matters regarding the Seaport area. I called her a couple of times before we arrived, visited with her while we were there and then called once again after we had returned home. Every time she was patient, friendly, engaging and especially resourceful about getting answers to my questions. She provided unusually excellent customer service which we rarely see--and we travel a lot. I wish I knew her name...but thank you.
