If you're planning to go to Marfa and have a beautiful experience you HAVE to do this, Burt is such a wonderful and cool pilot that makes you feel like part of the crew and is very experience. If you're hesitating because you're afraid, DON'T. Burt is very experienced and you glide in the "ocean of air" for 15-20 minutes and is just so peaceful and beautiful. But I can't stress this enough, BURT IS AMAZING. Send him an email and he will reply.

If you’re looking for guarantees you’re in the wrong place. With gliders you take what Mother Nature gives you. If you’re looking for the possibility of a transcendent experience Burt and his tow pilot are committed to help you find it. I encourage anyone to take the time and effort to grab this opportunity with both hands. Can’t recommend the experience highly enough.

As a 30+ year private pilot (single engine) and aircraft owner, I've flown with a lot of other pilots and flight instructors. Burt is one of the best I've met. I met him for the first time just before our scheduled flight together at Marfa airport today. Burt and his team were very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. His sailplanes are very modern and maintained in excellent condition. And this part of the country is a great place to try soaring! I highly recommend it!

Awesome thing to do when you're visiting Marfa. Professional, fun, and thrilling. He did a great job checking in on us to make sure we weren't scared, and he provided a lot of info about the local area while we were soaring. Highly recommend!

There is no way to describe this experience. Are you flying by yourself as if soaring? Are you a bird or a human in sleek, beautiful work of art? It was totally unread. The pilot and assistants were all professional, top notch aviators. Safety was their primary message plus passenger comfort. Very small space inside, some turbulence at first, and then the wide open spaces. How magnificent. The panorama is so unique and breathtaking. There are no words for this extraordinary trip through time and space.

Highly recommend taking this adventure. Very very safe. Burt Compton does a very good job on briefing and flying the glider

Add soaring over Marfa to your bucket list...a truly amazing experience!!!! Burt Compton and crew are completely focused on your safety and enjoyment. With perfect weather, Burt was so kind (and skilled) to keep us up for 26 minutes after the tow release. I could've stayed up all day!! He also gives you a history and geography lesson while you're in flight. I'm hooked, will be back next spring!

I emailed them on friday on my way down and i was able to ride on saturday. SO SO SO happy it worked out!!! They were such nice guys and I felt very safe through it all. It was seriously one of the best experiences I've ever had. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Two people cannot go at once. Approximate cost is 130-150 a ride. More information at flygliders . com You have to email instructor first and he will help guide you through your questions and prepare you for an awesome time!
