Best bang for your buck. Quiet, shaded, large sites. Back in or pull through with full hook up. Handy to city and 1 hr drive to Eagle Pass Casino.
Friendly staff, that will help you enjoy your stay. Price is very reasonable with weekly and monthly rates or $40 a night.

We came to Del Rio for our son's graduation from Laughlin. We were looking forward to touring the museum to learn about the history. We first wanted to come in a Thursday before graduation and learned they were closed. We then decided we would tour on Saturday. It was supposed to be opened from 1pm to 4pm according to website and brochures. Nope, wasn't open. We arrived at 2pm with it locked up tight and no note on the door. Quite disappointing to have been looking forward to something and not have it open. We had thought about going to San Antonio, but because Saturday was the only day the museum was supposed to be open and we really wanted to tour it we didn't go. Please don't advertise if you really aren't going to be open. It really messes with people's days and plans.

We showed up but person had gone to lunch and the museum was closed. Neighboring businesses didn't know when person would be back, so we left. Never got to visit. We could have called, I suppose, but the museum was suppose to be open. Parking on Main Street was few and far between as well.

The man leading the tour of this small museum is one of the key factors in what makes the museum amazing. There are so many displays with lots of reading. His casual conversation style presentation brings the photos and documents to life. There are no interactive displays and young children might get bored.
If you are interested in the history of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the activities of Laughlin AAF, you will enjoy this place.

We love places like this, passionate people who spend a lot of time and energy to collect and organize memorabilia that would have otherwise been lost. Go with an open mind and soak up the small museums details and stories!

We were pleased to have come to this small museum. We were warmly welcomed and the curator gave us a personal tour of the museum that features the U2 high flying surveillance plans, which at one time were based at Laughlin Airforce Base in Del Rio. The exhibits include genuine artifacts from the planes and photos showing the Cuban missile crisis. Pilots from that era were there to answer questions. A wonderful place to visit with people who are keeping this museum and its memories alive

This small but informative museum is a tribute to past and present LAFBase. A load of history in pictures, memorabilia and several static displays. Opening hours are limited, just check in with their website for information, it's a .org url.

This little local museum has an excellent collection of items that explain the U2 plane and its pilots, especially how they were deployed from the local air base during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1963. My husband was a U2 pilot (later than that) and we were both impressed with this collection.

The man who shared the museum information was a complete scholar on the history of spy airplanes.
Artifacts from original aircraft are available for close inspection.
You are exposed to pictures and information that was kept secret for decades
The experience stays with you

We were very pleased to have come to this small museum in a shopfront. We were warmly welcomed and the curator gave us a personal tour of the museum that features the U2 and Blackbird high flying surveillance planes, which at one time were based at Laughlin Airforce Base in Del Rio. The exhibits include genuine artifacts from the planes and photos showing what was seen in the Cuban missile crisis. Pilots from that era were there to answer questions. A wonderful place to visit with people who are keeping this museum and its memories alive
