You have to stop here if you are in the area! Such a cool spot to see. The ghost Tennessee is real, look up the cigarette trick. So amazing, we were blown away!

Stopped here and got out to stretch our legs. The bridge is very well maintained. Enjoyed looking for turtles in the water.

Very nice bridge. I went in the later afternoon, they don't want people there at night although I understand some paranormal groups do investigate the area after dark This bridge was used by both sides in the war, it has been structurally strengthened. It supposedly is very haunted and one situation during the war is 3 confederate soldiers deserted disguising themselves as Union soldiers and joining in with union troupes but were discovered. All three were hung from the upper wooden bridge beams and some have reported seeing 3 disembodied heads haunting the bridge at night. Supposedly the peaceful tranquility of the bridge in the day changes to one of anxiety after dark. I now wish I had gone back at dusk to see if the mood did change. It's a beautiful covered bridge, it's just too bad idiots have to carve graffiti on the wood trusses inside. This is hard to find as you can't try and type in an address in your Garmin. My brother goes to Gettysburg about every year and he said he couldn't find it when he tried once. I did a Google search and found a map from Gettysburg and expanded it enough to get street names. I wrote out my own step by step instructions and I managed to find it. Well worth the short drive on an afternoon in-between seeing all the other sites.

Not part of the audio tour but it is right there and is a peaceful place. You cannot drive over the bridge so park when you see a line of cars if they are there

The bridge is gorgeous and is perfect for photos! The water underneath it is extremely clam and makes for an excellent backdrop. The was a small waterfall nearby. They only downside was that they are allowing it to be vandalized. There was sharpie all over the bridge despite the signs saying not to. I even saw a camera that is obviously fake or doesn’t get looked over, because there is a lot of “graffiti” on the bridge. It has the potential to be so much more beautiful. You really notice all of it once you get closer to it and walk under it.

A beautiful covered bridge that was used by the Confederate army as a field hospital and is reportedly haunted. This bridge has been moved and rebuilt due to flooding but is mostly original and is quiet interesting to see. Loved it!

The bridge was crossed in the American Civil War by both the Union and Confederate Armies in the Battle of Gettysburg.

I always enjoying wandering through an old, covered bridge and this one didn't disappoint. It was a little cold that day but we still took our time and walked all around.

It was such a beautiful fall day when we visited the bridge. It is easy to imagine the history that played out here. Both armies used this bridge. It was a lovely place to meditate and to imagine.

Beautiful bridge. It's too bad people have to deface the timbers and walls with their names. Throwing litter and leaving it should be a capital offense.

Actually Sachs bridge is outside the town proper. It took us a bit of looking till we found it but was worth the drive. Got some great early a.m. pics. Good luck and hope you enjoy your trip.
