Well worth a detour if you are in the Wrexham area. The architecture is stunning. A mediaeval jewel inside and outside. Magnificent beamed roof, and many interesting features to discover; tombs, stained glass, the tower. The churchyard contains many ancient yews, and if you are lucky you may hear its fantastic bells.

The bell ringers are extreemly freindly and give a good tour of the tower and history of the bells. the views from the top of the tower are amazing and if you are lucky you may even get to ring a bell.

Trip Advisor Staff please note:- There are two separate TripAdvisor pages about this church that confine their comments mainly to the bells. Both need to be amalgamated under a new heading of All Saints Church, Gresford.

Whilst the bells are famous they are an integral feature of a very grand and ancient church. I add photos taken this year and will add many more when you have sorted out the amalgamation. Please advise when done.

Having spent the best part of 18 years living in the shadow of All Saints Church, I can review the Sunday call to service just before Sunday school and the evening practice sessions. I now live in a village where the Church only sounds the time, I seriously miss the bells sounding out across the fields....

The bells at All Saints Church in Gresford are one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and are celebrated in rhyme.....

Pistyll Rhaeadr and Wrexham steeple,
Snowdon' s mountain without its people,
Overton yew trees, St. Winifred' s well,
Llangollen bridge and Gresford bells.

All Saints Church is one of the most beautiful churches in Wales and was designated a Grade 1 listed building in 1963. It medieval stained glass windows are stunningly lovely. There are wonderful monuments inside this large church. Its tower with its peal of bells dominates the skyline and is truly magnificent.

The earliest peal of bells dates back to 1714. Four lighter bells were added in recent years at a cost of forty thousand pounds. They were cast at a foundry in Whitechapel where Big Ben was made.

The bells, that have a lovely peal and tone, are rung regularly at church services and weddings. The new bells are light enough for aspiring campanologists to try their hands.

Awesome.
