Go if you want a parking fine even though paid!
Parked and paid £5 and was still fined by scamming artists Parking Eye, even though provided evidence of payment by card and the parking ticket though their appeals process and still fined

Always wanted to see this waterfall, it was beautiful however I won't be back as the parkingeye carpark was empty the first parking machine was broken and the second one had no network, so now being asked to pay a 60 quid charge for a 28 minute walk around. Toilet was closed so was the cafe.
If you really want to visit I would recommend you park in the village and walk up otherwise you maybe ripped off by these carpark pirates.

Fantastic although did not park in car park as it was icy and they hadn't gritted it, parked down the road alittle. The cafe and toilets were also closed.

Looked forward to going to see Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall but left disappointed, the last bit of road getting there is a single track but does have plenty of passing places which fortunately was quiet when we went there on a beautiful sunny Autumn’s day , amazing scenery as we drove up the valley aswel . On arrival we had to pay £5 to park at a ticket machine which did last all day , however one major inconvenience not only to ourselves but several other visitors was that the toilet block which you had to pay 50 p to gain entrance through a turnstile was not in use , there didn’t seem to be any power in the coin machine it just kept ejecting coins . There was a sign that someone else had taken over the running of the toilets since Powys council decided to close them , but still weren’t open when we were there , to make it worse the cute riverside coffee shop / cafe was closed so you couldn’t have a nice cup of coffee and use their toilets , we did notice that was a for sale sign on the coffee shop / cafe which possibly meant that no one was on site to open the public toilets ,
However the waterfall was quite a spectacular however we did not go on the upper path to the view point at the top of the waterfall due to having to head to find public conveniences, on leaving the car park we noticed back along the track lots of other cars had parked out of the main car park obviously to avoid the £5 parking fee which may be worth doing if there is room to park

Three cars with 5 pensioners in each car, three car park tickets purchased. A week later 2 of the car owners received a car park fine for £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.
HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN CAR PARK EYE! YOU ARE NOT RUNNING THIS CAR PARK LEGALLY!

Parking is terrible, small car park sion full and outside car park you need a 4x4..
Parking attendant are not helpful , if your car is still there after closing they get quite rude.
Be prepared for a hell road to get there very narrow .
As for the falls yes fabulous well worth the visit but those that make money of it must remember it's part of nature nor something they own

Visited in April but unfortunately got there 16.20 and all was closed. Had a look around and stayed for less than 20 minutes
Recently I have received a parking fine for £170 . It's a disgrace to think all was closed yet still received a fine
Be mindful as there is no signage stating you need to pay after closing

Parking is at the base and there is picnic tables if you bring food. The falls are majestic and stunning but it is difficult to take photos due to the crowds. Many people ignore safety so watch out. The trail is not the easiest to the top but the views are breathtaking. The top was solid muddy muck so disappointed as we were unable to get close to the falls in the back.

we cannot recommend this place enough! An absolutely breathtaking view of the waterfall from the bottom and even better from the top if you can ramble up through the mountains (via a trail- no rock climbing needed).
The bottom of the waterfall is easy to access from the paid car park by the cafe, taking just 5-10mins walk approx. for people of all ages- maybe not wheelchair/ pushchair friendly as it is through the edge of the woods.
we walked through the mountains to the top of the waterfall and it was everything we wanted and more- a truly beautiful view with places to sit in the rocks. stiles dotted about indicating public access, easy to follow walkways, what more could you want!

Fantastic waterfall. However, beware the scum bag operator running the car park by the falls. Parked up for 18 minutes for a quick look on a very wet October evening and got a huge fine from the UKs most despised parking company. As such, I won't be back.

Do you pay cash or card for parking please?

How long does the walk take from the cafe to the waterfall? Thanks
Escrita el 10 de enero de 2022
It's a shortish ramble over the road and up the hillside, over rocky/muddy terrain, to get to the bottom of the falls... If you're steady on your feet it's 5 - 7 mins. Recommend walking sticks for extra stability in wet conditions. There are a couple of routes to the top of the falls, one is a steep scramble up and over a rocky hill or there is a longer winding pathway up the hill. 20-30 mins. Steep and slippery near the falls and big drops, so take care. We'll worth the climb for the valley view and access to additional falls.

We are planning to visit just wondering if this place good for babies with buggy
Escrita el 11 de agosto de 2020
There is an option to visit the base of the Waterfall without the climb. I don't think it is suitable for a buggy. You could buy I think it would be difficult.

How do-able would it be to get to the waterfall with young children? I’ve read in most reviews the walks are difficult but not sure if ‘the walks’ are for scenery which my 3 & 4 year old wouldn’t be much interested in, or to get to the actual waterfall. Basically I’d like to take the kids for a little paddle :D

Easy access at the bottom you’ll have no trouble at all with your young ones

Has anyone stayed in the Chalet at Pistyll Rheadar?
Escrita el 28 de octubre de 2019
HI, we also just visited for the day and we stayed at the West Arms at Llanarmon which is first class. The chalet did look basic but that would suit many people. Good luck. Nigel.

I don’t like the sound of the car journey up single track. Is it far to walk if parking at bottom of track?
Escrita el 5 de agosto de 2019
Yes, it's too far to walk and you're also vulnerable to traffic hurtling up the single track road
Escrita el 6 de agosto de 2019
Sorry I don’t know the answer to your question. We only went for the walk to the waterfall. You could research information online.

I shouldn't think so, as the owners NOT MEMBERS OF WELSH OR ENGLISH TOURIST BOARD. They make their own rules, at a cost may I add,to the visitors to this natural attraction. They are out to take every penny off you that they can. If there wasn't a drought on at present, they would probably charge you gave a bbq of your own, like everything else they charge extortionately for. Check parking rates before you travel the long single track road which takes you there. They demanded £5 from me with less than a hour to go before they closed the gates. Read ALL the reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ok the waterfall us stunning, but with the drought is not in flow at present so not worth going anyway.

Would it be feasible to take a dog on the walk up?
Escrita el 19 de marzo de 2017
Yes should be fine but would need to be on a lead. I saw other people with dogs when I visited.
