We wanted to look at the Otis Redding statue in Gateway Park. Couldn't even get close as there were many suspect and undesirable looking drunks all around the access point on a Sunday afternoon. We did not feel safe and promptly left.

It was a great walking trail. It was an unplanned trip as I was in the area for something else. I recommend this as a to do and a way to learn a little more history.

I passed through Macon on my way to Florida and took a break to walk this trail. It is pretty nice, with a good amount of greenery and views of the water. In thr morning there were people walking and jogging but it never got too crowded. Not amazing but definitely worth doing.

We like to come here at least once a week with our babies and walk them in the stroller. Very beautiful and pleasant walk. A nice play area for kids as well.

A friend and I went here this evening to enjoy a fast food meal we'd purchased around the corner. The parking lot had plenty of open spaces, and the nature trail is multi-use for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. So you might want to stay to the right as you go, so that people can pass on the left.

Nice trail as it meanders through the trees. Very very green, with the river on the right as the trail follows it. We walked in maybe half a mile, but I've heard it goes for about 11 miles. Check it out and let us know.

Item of note: there are concrete "domes" that stick up out of the ground among the lawn. They reminded me of the entrances where the Morlocks entered the underground in the 1960 movie The Time Machine with Rod Taylor (RIP). The covers of these domes are embossed with the word "Sewer." And as you'll walk deeper into the trail, you'll be well aware of the sewer, as the stench somewhat follows it for a little while. So heads up on that.

Here's a tip: bring a frisbee. Great area for it.

We thought this would be a bit more scenic than it was, but it was a nice, clean, and safe pathway to get some exercise along the river bank. would have been perfect for a bike ride.

If you complete the entire trail, which is miles, you get a shirt :) It is beautiful and educational and takes you through the best spots. Take a camera :)

Close to downtown and the Marriott, this nice greenway winds along the river with benches, playground and information kiosks. We did not have a chance to explore the whole distance but enjoyed the several miles we walked.

Small gift shop, trail to walk around mounds and observe scenic area. Preservation of this area was required to keep the area from being destroyed.
