Loved some things, but were disappointed with other aspects. Not all animals could be seen i.e. owls, polecats, squirrels. Some animals didn’t seem too happy. Play park has disappeared since our last visit a year ago.
4 year old grandson, who is a big animal lover, was delighted with the otters, who were fascinating to watch. Chickens, goose and cats were a hit too. Fox is beautiful.
Very nice cafe & lovely gift shop. A touch pricey all in all, but quite enjoyable nonetheless.

We both so enjoyed our visit here. Justin was great showing us a beautiful shire horse and her colt and it was wonderful to stroke them and be told their story and lots of great knowledge about shire horses and the centres history back then and now. We saw a gorgeous fox relaxing, and a tawny owl, a beautiful red squirrel which I haven't got close to before. Some peahens and a huge pig Heidi and two Shetland ponies one called Pearl and a huge Cockerell called Percy and lots of free roaming chickens. Janet the owner was very friendly on arrival and in the cafe with others. I could have stayed all day the land around is so rustic and peaceful. Thanks to all who run̈ this gem of a place?k

Plenty of parking on arrival, greeted by a lovely lady who explained how things worked and what was happening that afternoon.
Used the picnic area on arrival. Children loved looking at the horses and foals, particularly Anna and her foal who were extremely friendly. Took part in the pony grooming, watched the otter feed and listened to the meet the shire talk.
Lovely long walk around the grounds. Small exhibition room with lots of info on shires. Ticket is valid for a month which makes it really good value. Will very much be visiting again.

We visited 2/7/24.. not been for years so things have changed.. a bigger shop/cafe.. very friendly/helpful staff.. various animals although the shire horses are the main stars.. there are recently born foals.. two cats, one who acts as a ‘guide’ by following you around.. plenty of seats around the walk around.. a small play area.. feed the ducks.. both cafe and entrance prices are very reasonable- today’s ticket will expire on 1/8/24, so we can, and will, return.. the toilets are nice and clean and the animals are well cared for.. we enjoyed ourselves..🐝🐝

What a fantastic experience we had, lovely caring, knowledgeable staff and fabulous surroundings with plenty to do and see for the family, we took our 2 year old grandson and he loved the place, so much so we have plans to return soon as entry is free when returning within 30 days. Great little well stocked gift shop and the cafe is lovely and freshly prepared food and drinks at very reasonable prices.

Went here one morning while my husband was playing golf along the road.
Well worth the entrance fee to see the animals so well looked after.
I enjoyed walking round the fields and watching the horses and other animals at the entrance.
There is a nice gift shop and cafe at the entrance and it makes a lovely visit.

A surpise day out with our daughter and grandaughter. This is a lovely place to visit with animals and birds galre. The horses are fab. Lots for children to do with a quiz on the trail and a prize at the end to grooming a pony. Lovely rare breed chickens, a massive pig, otters, owls, Owls. Totally enjoyed. It was very muddy so take your wellies, you can hire them too. Cant wait to visit in the summertime

Does the cafe serve more than snacks for lunch or just drinks and cake?

Do you allow dogs?
Unfortunately we are unable to allow dogs into the Centre beyond the Cafe. Both for the safety of the animals and the dogs. We have free range ducks, hens and often piglets which may tempt even the best behaved dog!
Assistance dogs are very welcome but we would appreciate advanced notice of your visit.

is it wheelchair friendly?? and do carers have to pay?? thanks
Escrita el 5 de agosto de 2019
There is wheelchair access to a reasonable proportion of the site.
The area around the farmyard, stables and exhibition centre has hard surfaces and is mainly level.
Many of the horses are grazed in the paddocks around the farm and there are several walks and trails.
There is an Easier Access Walk which is suitable for most wheelchairs and motor scooters and most of the Shire horses can be seen along this route.
Other Trails are grassed and some have steep inclines, so manual wheelchair users will need the assistance of a very able pusher to negotiate them.
Carers pay half the concession price, which is £4.25. Your admission tickets will be valid for free return visits for a month. I hope that this helps and we look forward to welcoming you soon!
