Hugely influenced by the Vijaynagara architecture, this temple too is a reflection of the amazing detailed work that sculptors used to carry out in the that era.

The temple complex although now surrounded by residential housing is still a sight to behold. The carvings are beautiful and there is a stone chariot, smaller than its counterpart in the Vijay Vitthala temple of Hampi.

This temple is located on the bank of Penna river near Tadipatri bus station. It is on the way to Bugga ramalingeshwara swamy temple when you are starting from Tadipatri Bus station. This is located just 900m away from Bus station we went there by walk only. Here in this temple 10 feet beautiful idol of Lord Venkateswara is worshipped as Venkata Ramana swamy.

Architecture of This temple:
This temple is believed to have been built in 16th century between 1510 to 1525 A.D. by Timma Naidu a Chief of Vijayanagar Kingdom. This temple is spread across 5 acres of land. Beautiful carvings of Ramayana and Mahabharata are seen around the Garba Griha, Mandapam' s and main gopuram. There is a underground passage in this temple, which believed to be leading to Gooty Fort. Presently same is closed by the ASI. There are two other main temples inside this temple complex. one is dedicated to Godless Laxmi and the other to lord Anjaneya. There is also one stone chariot.
The Architecture is a great significance divided into five sections.
1. The Mukha Mandapam which mean the Sanctum which is constructed with 40 Pillars
2. Garbagruha which is the inner sanctuary where the mail deity is placed.
3. The Ranga Mandapam means larger hall used to dance or drama.
4. The Main Gopuram means the entrance tower.
5. The Prakaram which is the wall which is outer part of the temple

There is small story beyond this temple name, which is said that once a huge noise burst out from a tamarind tree and when the villagers gathered to find out about the source of the noise, they found an idol of lord Vishnu, which has taken out from a tamarind tree. The tamarind tree is called as Chinta Chettu in telugu. Later the day Lord Vishnu appeared in Timma Naidu's dream, and ordered him to built temple here. Since then this temple is called as Chantal Venkata Ramana Temple.

One more specialty of this temple is on Mukkoti Ekadashi, the Sun rays touch the feet of Venkata Ramana Swamy for Continuous three days of Ekadashi, Dwadashi and Thrayodashi.

Worth a visit. Well preserved, though parts are in ruins. If you are visiting Gandikota or Belum, this can be a good place for a stopover. Both the temples are nearby and live. Keep around an hour for visit. Ample parking is available.

The Chintala Venkataramanaswamy temple in Tadipatri Andhra is located on the banks of the Penna river over an area of five acres. It is believed that the Lord revealed himself accompanied by a huge sound from a tamarind tree (Chintha Chettu) and hence the name. The ruler Thimmanayaka at Gooti fort had a dream wherein the Lord instructed him to build a temple to the murthy in the tamarind tree. The temple was built in the Vijayanagar style during 1510 - 1525. The mukhamandapa has forty intricately carved pillars and the Rangamandapa
has scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharatha and the Bhagavatham as well as the dashavatar. The garuda sthamba is unique. The balipeetham is ornately carved. The Garuda sannidhi is actually a stone chariot. Sunlight passes through holes in this structure and touches the feet of the Lord on Vaikunta Ekadashi, Dwadashi and Trayodashi days ! The mukhamantapa with forty pillars carved in great detail and very good symmetry. The ventilation is superb and temperature is comfortable. The designs are perfect in execution.

Court yard and main Sanctrom is full of carvings. The Garuda dwarapalaka is inside aStone Ratha like the one in Hampi of Karnataka. Temple architechture is very much influenced by Vijayanagara style.

We went in the afternoona nd saw many locals taking nap in the main court yard of the temple.

Upkeep and security needs to be improved to atrract more visitors to the temple

The Chintala Venkataramanaswamy Temple is one of the hidden beauties of Andhra. Not as grand as Tirupati of course but it definitely deserves more attention than it is getting currently. Located in a small town it is probably ignored by many tourists however the art inside the temple deserves exploration by those who value history. A beautiful Hampi style chariot stands in the foreground and the pillars have exquisitely carved Apsaras in fine detail. We couldnt get a darshan though since the temple was closed at that time but therefore could explore its beauty much better. Worth a short detour if you are passing through Tadipatri!

Both these temples in Tadpathri, constructed in the 15th century dating back to the Vijayanagar period remain unknown to tourists. There are many legends associated with them....a must see place for the serenity, peace and sculpture.

We visited this temple on a saturday evening, swamy's alankaram was very nice and the temple itself it surrounded by lawns, seems like the destination for many families from town, they do the darshan and sit in the lawn for some time and leave home. We also sat in the lawn for some time, chanted sahasranamam and left, it is very near from the town and in a walkable distance, nice place to visit if you travel by the tadipatri town.
