Yes. Good security. Close to freeway for easy access to other areas and the bay. We were there 3 nights and saw no problems.

We were just here for one night, but it appeared to be perfectly safe. Not much in the immediate area though....a couple of restaurants literally just round the corner but not much else. You'll need to drive into town for anything else.
To me, it didn't seem like the very best part of town, but it wasn't all that bad either. That being said, I heard a LOT of sirens at night (two night stay), and even though the hotel is quiet in general, on several occasions I could hear very loud cars and motorcycles racing up and down the street... even through the noise reducing windows, and even though I was several floors up. That's not a reflection on the hotel, which is very nice, but it shows you what the area is like - a LOT of traffic... not somewhere you'd want to go walking, especially at night or alone.
Again, it's not a scary place, but I just wouldn't want to wander around on the sidewalks in that area at night.
