I booked two BellView Suites, one for my niece and one for me in February 2021 for a week. Each of the suites flank La Cappella, the restaurant housed within BellView. I was in Las Cruces and I felt as though I had been transported to another place and time. Honestly, I felt as though I were in Italy! My room was not only tremendous in size with lovely antiques, it had a very large bathroom with lovely pedestal tub, which was stunning, and a tiled shower. The room also has a balcony overlooking the backside of the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Bell Towers. There is a water view (where I would occasionally see whales blow and crest the water) and spectacular sunset views. But the best part of the balcony for me was hearing the violins play below at La Cappella. The music brought tears to my eyes every time the violinists would play “Por ti volare”. This room was one of the most romantic rooms I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Perfect for a honeymoon! Yes... the bells go off every hour as well as every quarter hour but this is part of the charm and did not bother me in the least while sleeping! My niece and I met each morning for breakfast in LaCappella which was fabulous, not only for the fantastic breakfast (French Toast and fresh OJ is a must) but the view of the water in the morning is truly breathtaking! Caesar was an extremely attentive and pleasant waiter. The staff is wonderful, the views are the best in Puerto Vallarta, the food is delicious at La Cappella, and my room was over the top. The only negative thing I can say was that it took quite a while to get hot water to the shower and the water pressure is fairly low. But with all the other amenities, that was a minor inconvenience. I booked another week in December. This is not just another boutique hotel, it’s an experience....it’s priceless!

We stayed Friday-Monday and the place is great just as pictures shown, great location (walking distance to everything) with great views I would give them 4 or 5 stars, however the church in front of the hotel has gone cRaZy. I understand that church bells ring (7 of them) for mass, weddings and at the top of the hour since it has a clock tower However, they rang 24 hours a day every 15 minutes, on the average 13-17 times (no set pattern) When I mentioned to staff what’s going on, they seemed surprised, however the maid on day 3 brought us earplugs to wear at night (this tells me they know) I doubt they will continue to get visitors if that continues Management has to work with the church and the city to get corrected Once again I understand that bells are meant to be rang, but this was crazy and could not sleep The bells are the only reason I would not return

Dear guest: Thank you for your comments, we are sorry for the inconvenience with the church bells, uncertain as to the dates of your stay with us as they are not mentioned, we can only suspect that if the bells were were ringing so often it must have been due to a church festivity. Once again our sincere apologies, however, it is completely out of our hands to correct the ringing of the bells´ main church in Puerto Vallarta, we can only work trying to isolate the noice as much as possible for our guests.

My wife and I have eaten at the La Cappella restaurant many times over the years. I don’t recall ever looking at the website since our concierge usually made our reservations, however on this trip I check out the restaurant to look for restrictions it was at this time I discovered Bellview Hotel, which is part of La Cappella. In reviewing the website, my wife and I knew we just had to stay in one of their elegantly appointed rooms. The amenities and the architecture is something most people just dream of finding, and never have the opportunity to stay it. Though we had other hotel arrangements for the week, we made reservations at La Cappella for dinner, (which is a whole different Trip Advisor article, because it’s a dream of a restaurant, and the violinists takes the incredible restaurant to a whole different level). We also made reservations at Bellview Hotel, dismissing the fact we had a room already at a different hotel for the same night. That room would remain empty for the night while we experienced Bellview Hotel. We checked in a few hours prior to our dinner reservation so we could enjoy our experience. We had a suite with a balcony which was about the same size as our room. Trust me when I say, both the room and the balcony were enormous. The balcony overlooks the Catholic Church of Guadalupe. When I say over looks, I mean it, because Bellview is directly across the street from the church. It has a view you only see in magazines from someone’s else’s vacation. We were living the Bellview experience, all to ourselves. I can go on and on. The rooms are worthy of the finest taste, as is the restaurant, La Capella, for both Dinner and Breakfast. I almost forgot to mention, this property is one block from the front of the Church and 3 blocks from the Malacon, in the HEART of beautiful Puerto Vallarta. I’m not a blogger, and I’m not a travel agent, but I am a person that enjoys great service and great ambiance, and with the Bellview Hotel and La Cappella, it’s truly a win win. Please contact me should you have any questions. Safe and healthy travels

I booked a one-bed room suite and pre-paid the hotel. The hotel charged me $50 more than the quoted Orbitz' price, and when I questioned it, the hotel owner said that exchange rates fluctuate daily and that it was common for the actual price to be different from the quoted price. I researched it, and I could not find that the rate had spiked 4% in any recent time period. When I checked in, the hotel asked me to pay for the room. I told them it was pre-paid, and they insisted that it was not. It was not until I produced a receipt did they accept that it was pre-paid. After that they led me what they call a Superior Deluxe room, a corner room with a partial view. The room I booked was labeled "Panoramic Single Room, 1 Bedroom, Bay View," which was written on the confirmation I showed the owner of the hotel. He said that that room description does not exist. He then took me to another room which he said was a Deluxe Superior, and it was not until the next day I discovered that that room was in fact just a Deluxe room. Long story short, they downgraded me two levels. I paid $280 a night for a suite, and they put me in a $130 room. They insisted the room I originally booked did not exist, but when I found photos of the room, they said, that that room did exist but they never make it available. They refused to refund me the $743 difference. After spending about 20 hours on the phone with Orbitz, Orbitz forced them to refund me the money. I was so creeped out by the management at this hotel that I didn’t even eat in the restaurant. I’ve traveled all over the world, stayed at hundreds of different hotels and have never had an experience like this. If you do stay here, DON’T prepay the hotel. Pay through Orbitz or wait until you see what kind of room they are giving you and then negotiate a price. I also involved VISA, and VISA said I was not protected because I accepted some sort of room at the hotel. VISA said I should have refused to check into the hotel, and that is the only way I would get protection through them. This would have been a challenge as I would have then had to on foot, walk around Puerto Vallarta at night with my luggage looking for an alternate room. BTW, the bells go off all night long on the hour and quarter hour. I got used to it.
