Absolutely wonderful experience. All the staff were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Beach chairs, tables, and umbrellas are available to use at the beach. There is chair service where you can have anything from their menu brought to your beach chairs. The menu has number of options that can satisfy even the most picky eaters. There is ample parking for golf carts and mopeds right outside the main entrance. The rooms are cute and comfortable. All areas of the hotel and beach were always clean and dry. And if it needs to be said, the views and the beach are spectacular! We can’t wait to come back! 10 out of 10-Highly Recommend!

We just returned from Ixchel Beach Hotel. You can definitely trust all the 5* reviews, this place is excellent!
The location: Right outside the door of Ixchel Beach Hotel is Playa Norte, the best beach area on the island! Look up Playa Norte - it's often named one of the top ten beaches in the world. It has crystal clear water, powdery white sand, and no sargassum! The water is shallow for more than most beaches - perfect for young children. Ixchel Beach Hotel is also a few minutes walk to the beginning of the restaurant and shopping area. A mid-size grocery store is maybe a 10 walk away. We rented bicycles one day and rode around the island (Punta Sur and Isla Mujures Brewery were the highlights of that ride).
The staff: each and every staff person you come into contact with is friendly, helpful, and professional. I want to specifically mention Juan at the front desk for his friendly smiles and greetings each day, cheerfulness, and helpful suggestions.
The facility: so immaculately clean in both public areas and suites. The cleaning crew does an amazing and professional job! The hotel has a variety of water toys available for adults (floaters) and children. The beach lounge chairs are in great shape and comfortable, and the umbrellas are large. There seems to be enough chairs to accommodate everyone.
The suites are privately owned, so they can be a bit different in decoration and how recently they were updated. The one-bedroom, ocean view suite we had was comfortable (living room and dining furniture, bed) and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals (pots/pans, cooking utensils, dishes, large small plastic bowls with lids, kitchen towels and dish soap), a large drinking water dispenser, and pitchers. The bathroom had a double sink and the shower and toilet were in a separate room. The shower area was large, and we always had plenty of hot water with good water pressure.
We included transportation with our booking and that was a good decision. We didn't have to wait for the airport vans or cars - and they provided the ferry tickets. The trip back to the airport was equally as hassle-free.
We can't wait to go back next year!

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Can’t say enough good things about the entire staff. Very friendly & helpful with anything you might need. Every room I’ve stayed in is different, very nice, every room has a view of the beach. Will never stay anywhere else!

The property is perfectly placed in one of the best spots on Playa el Cocal, and only a very short walk to Playa Norte. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. If we weren’t in the beautiful water just a short walk from the back of the building, we spent our days lounging in the pool and getting delicious drinks from the pool bar. We unfortunately were there when Hurricane Beryl struck Mexico, but the hotel was fantastic during the event. All in all, after traveling to Isla Mujeres for years and staying at a good number of the different hotels, we’d have to say that Ixchel Beach Hotel is now right up there at the top of our list.

The location of this hotel is worth every penny spent! The hotel is clean and the staff are outstanding. They treat us like family and are quick to assist with anything we need. The beach service is amazing and Chepo made us feel like family everyday on the beach. We were sure to sit in his section because we knew we would receive first class service all day! The ocean views are amazing from either building. They have a ton of pool floaties and sand toys for the kids. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel. It is within walking distance to many bars and restaurants within Centro/downtown area or very easy to catch a cab to explore other parts of the island! This was our 5th time to stay with two more trips to Ixchel planned in 2025.

Hi, I don't speak Spanish, but I think you're asking me if there is a coral reef off of the beach at the hotel? I don't snorkel, so not really sure, but can tell you that the water is a beautiful color, shallow very far out, and very calm. And usually onsargassum!
