This FCFS rec site near Port Renfrew, BC has a small campground and lake with walking trail in an old growth forest. There are a few lake side sites, but they are very close to each other, so have limited privacy. There are some exceptionally large trees in a lot of the sites, which give the place a cozy, ancient wisdom type of feeling. We enjoyed it. The lake is small and near the road on one side. It doesn't have a day use area or extra parking in the campground. You can park on the side of the road just past the campground entrance and hand launch a car top boat or paddle board. Campers can walk from their site and hand launch on the small rocky beach. The water is quite dark and you cannot see the bottom when away from shore. The campsite road is quite narrow in a couple spots due to large trees so large rvs and trailers may have difficulty navigating. There are a couple of spots that could fit larger units, but for the most part can fit small trailers and tents. There are several awesome ancient groves in the area with fantastically large trees worth seeing. Google maps has them marked. The ocean is only a short drive.
