Restful homely retreat

Needing to recharge frayed nerves through these crazy times my gfriend & I decided it’s time to revisit our favourite regional town. We rang Renee (Pendower House - another previous amazing stay) & she suggested these villas as we both prefer our own beds & bathrooms. We were allocated Villa 7 - as usual comfortably decked out - Renee’s professionalism; Sheraton bath towels & choc treats welcomed us ....... on our beds. A home away from home .... there’s even a bbq for those wanting to cook - we did not bother as this location is walking distance into town centre. The morning & evenings were fresh, however the central heating & gas fireplace was so cosy. TVs in bedrooms as well as in sitting area is certainly a plus as it’s lovely to be able to watch something in bed till eyes struggle to stay awake, especially when both of us have different sleeping times. It was difficult making a firm booking for dinner on both evenings due to Covid19 restrictions, so we picked up takeaway & came home to our cosy retreat - looking at how eateries were juggling with queues awaiting pickup & restricted dining .... the stress on these venues were obvious as the standard of food was not the best; lacking in quality & flavours. Breakfast experience was much better as time for breakfast being over a broader timeframe - we managed to enjoy 2 sit down breakfasts. Daylesford is our yearly favourite retreat & we had never experienced traffic jams ever before - so many people made social distancing a joke being school holidays & many states shutting their borders to Victorians. Whilst we did enjoy our two day escape it wasn’t quite as relaxing as in past years. Thankfully our cosy home away from home helped us recharge our ‘internal batteries’, thanks Renee - well worth a stay & we will be back when restrictions lift & life returns to normality hopefully in the not too distant future. …
