We have had the pleasure of staying in this house for a two weeks each summer for the last few years. And before that, we rented another home from Freddie - who has been wonderful in every regard!
Soundview house is perfection. It has a lovely mix of open floor plan areas that are perfect for family gatherings, and separate spaces for varied activities. The outdoor spaces are ideal for both quiet peaceful moments and family get-togethers. And the sunsets are stunning!
The house has all the amenities you’d desire - and then some. The kitchen is well stocked and that with the BBQ make cooking easy.
We’ve also had great fun with the foosball table over the years!
Location is the best. You can walk to two beaches and everything else (restaurants, wineries, grocery stores, and Greenport) are a short car ride away.
We 💓 Soundview House and appreciate the relationship we have with Freddie!

Wonderful House Close To The Beach And Wineries
We are a family with two kids and we all had an amazing time in this house, vacationed here two years in a row. The house is wonderful - spacious, clean, comfortable, good beds, very nice spacious deck and balconies in the bedrooms, well-stocked convenient kitchen (we love to cook), great grill and really good location. No need to take the car to the beach - just take the beach buggy and walk 5-7 minuted to a nice uncrowded sandy beach. Close by there is a brewery, seafood shop, cheese farm. Wineries and Greenport are a short drive away. Freddie is a great host: caring, very attentive, easy to work with, very flexible, we really could not have wished for a better host. If we take another vacation in the North Fork we will definitely stray here again.

We had a wonderful time at Hickory House. The location in Southold is perfect for visiting the beach, wineries and farmers markets as well as Greenport and Mattituck. The home itself had everything you could possibly need and was very spacious. It's wonderful setting made it feel isolated, but in minutes you could be to any one of the wonderful spots on the North Fork. After visiting town and wineries all day, we stopped at the farmers markets to purchase provisions and had lovely dinners home using the grill on the deck. The owner, Freddie D., provided very detailed information about the home prior to our arrival and had a book at the home which answered every question we could possible ask.
The only downside was that the wifi signal was weak. When we mentioned this to Freddie he said he planned to contact the provider. If you are traveling with someone who absolutely needs wifi access, bring a hot spot. It would be a shame to miss out on this great house.
We hope to return again next September.

Thank you for the great review. We always want our guests to feel that Hickory House is their home during their stay. We did contact Optimum and the modem was replaced. Still, unfortunately, Southold cell phone signal is weak and internet is sometimes a hit or miss.
