You'll regret it
I'm sure this was a nice place to stay once upon a time but not anymore. It presents well at first. The view is lovely which will distract you from the misery you're about to move into until its too late. I was locked into a for 3 month lease agreement and it was awful. But weather you're here for a few days or a month your experience will be there same.
INSECTS: Let's start with the nightly scorpions and spiders throughout the house. You'll want to wear shoes if you're walking around inside in the dark and thoroughly check your sheets before bed. I always kept doors shut and could never figure out where they were coming in.
CLEANLINESS: The pillows and bed smell like mold and are for sure extremely unhealthy to be sleeping on. I removed the pillow cases to find the most stained disgusting mold riddled pillows i've ever seen. The kitchen cupboards also smell like mold. I had to rewash every pot/pan/dish/cup and forgo using most of the storage for fear of contamination. The bathroom also has slight but constant sewage oder as though the pluming doesn't work well enough. I had to keep the door shut 100% of the time.
SOUND: This unit is under two others and you can hear EVERYTHING through the floor if the units above are occupied. I asked the landlord/owner upon move in if you could hear through the floors as the upstairs was not occupied at the time. She lied and told me you can't hear anything. A few weeks later tenants moved in and OMG..you can hear walking, sweeping, doors, the toilet flushing, conversations, couples having sex...everything. And the people above me were not loud by any means. The construction of the building is just so cheap theres nothing to muffle the noise between floors. There are also lots of barking dogs in the complex to keep you up all night. Literally everyone has 1-4 dogs its crazy. If you're lucky to get a quiet night outside the cheap old refrigerator, which is 4 feet from the bed, cycles on and off 24/7 and sounds like an industrial fan with broken motor. It's a special kind of torture.
VALUE: Lets start by pointing out the westerns who own these condos are living in a 2015 Nicaraguan economy. Post recession, plus during COVID with zero tourism they are still asking ridiculous prices. I offered less than asking and it was still a rip off. The utilities are always paid separate by the tenant and electricity in Nicaragua is VERY expensive. If you want to use the aircon at all expect a monthly bill of $200-$400 depending on your usage. on top of your rent. The landlord also tacked on extra arbitrary service fee's to every utility invoice (invoices she created) that she told me everyone at Pellican Eye's is required to pay but I had several friends renting other units and no one else paid the made up fees.
MANAGEMENT: Thieves. When I moved in I paid a deposit of one months rent and asked for a receipt. The landlord/owner Katia told me she was the treasurer for all of Pellican Eyes yet was completely incapable of producing a receipt for me. This is always a bad sign. I asked three times, twice in writing and was ignored every time. I was also told before moving in that the WiFi worked very well and was only $20 extra per month. This was a must for me as I work from home. First month it didn't work at all. I let Katia know and was told to wait until the following month and pay to upgrade the speed. So I did, Begrudgingly. Next month I paid $40 and still the speed never got above 1 gbps. I went to the service provider who told me that service has never worked well at Pellican Eye's and there were no refunds. Understandably frustrated I told Katia in writing I would have to move because l wasn't able to work without internet. She told me she would install better Wi-FI that week if I stayed and I agreed but let her know I would not be double paying for the service since I already purchased her suggestion two months in a row. She agreed. When I moved out a month later I reached out in advance to ensure I would get the deposit back on the last day of the walkthrough as I needed it to pay for my new apartment that day and was told in writing yes. Katia showed up 45 minutes late for the walk though (this was the case every time we scheduled to meet, so inconsiderate) and acted completely oblivious when I asked for my deposit. She said she had to "calculate" the utilities which should have been done already. 3 days later I received the deposit minus several extra mystery "fees" and she ripped an extra $60 out of my deposit for the Wi-Fi I already paid for. Even though I had all of this in writing about the Wi- Fi with her agreeing she refused to honor her word. I should have known from the beginning with all of the lies about the casita.
Overall a very bad experience. Pellican Eyes is a nice place but Lugar Escondido is terrible.

Sunsets are unbelievable!
We have been in Lugar Escondido at the Pelican Eyes Resort for 6 ½ weeks and have had a fabulous stay. The view from the front deck is unbelievable. We did not miss one sunset and had four rainbow mornings. The studio is fully stocked with kitchen appliances and has a weekly change of towels and bedding. The resort has generator backup so we were always with power. The accommodation is perfect for 2 people. It has air conditioning but we were here January to March and the breezes were more enjoyable. We had very low electrical cost by not using the AC. There is a shuttle service that will take you to the reception area or the main gate at no charge. The walk to town is minutes. The 3 pools were well maintained and only busy on the weekends. You get a great view of the cruise ships when they are in the harbor. Staff here were all accommodating and friendly. The owner was always available by text messaging and even came for a sunset visit. We would highly recommend this property for your stay.

Very great place to stay.
Very clean and friendly. Close to town. Excellent view, hot shower. The pools were amazing with the overlook of the bay.
