The Daisy House is one of Subiaco's most unique properties, being designed and hand built by award winning Perth architect Brian Klopper in 1978. Featured in “A Short History of Western Australian Architecture” by Geoffrey London, the Daisy House was one of the first homes in Western Australia to use recycled bricks in its construction and amazingly it also uses old steel railway line from the 1850?s as floor joists and door and window lintels. Old wooden telephone poles and giant wooden beams salvaged from the old Busselton jetty in our south west are also used throughout as structural features. The house takes its name from a beautiful large daisy leadlight window designed and built by Brian. It is truly an intriguing building. The Daisy House is a 2 storey dwelling with 2 queen beds upstairs and is located in the western end of Park Street, only 200 metres from all the facilities of Rokeby Road. Rokeby Road is one of Perth's favourite shopping areas with restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, fashion, supermarkets and fresh food markets, all within a very short walk from the Daisy House. Our properties are all fully 'self catered' - once you arrive and settle in we won't interrupt you with cleaning and servicing. If you would like your bed made and your house cleaned, please let us know and we would be happy to come and do your housework for you at a cost of $100 per time. If you just want a quick tidy up and your beds made, it would be $40 per hour. The Daisy House is also just several doors from a beautiful small pocket park which is a mecca for locals, with their families and dogs, and is home to a fairly significant local bird population. Families of kookaburras frequent the park often. The park is lovely and peaceful during the day, becoming busier later in the day, and then peaceful again early evening. It is a nice spot to sit with a cold drink on a warm day and enjoy the bbq facilities and commune with the locals. There is also a nice roomy courtyard garden at the Daisy House with it's own bbq if you wish to dine or relax at “home”. The Daisy House – a very unique alternative to the hotel lifestyle. Strictly non smoking and sorry but no parties or noisy gatherings.Más
